Hey TitanV, I had the same problem. When I nuked the Soudblaster bloatware 3, no more hangs. I posted this yesterday, try it. Oh, go into safe mode and run the uninstall. If you remove in normal mode, you'll bluescreen! CO

My apologies for the title, I realized after posting that may be too general. Anywho... I have ALWAYS had problems installing Nvidia drivers above version 3.68, and have had intermittent problems with them as well. My system would hang(2d or gaming)after a bit, and I would need to shut the suka down. Well, after d!ckn around with my machine for 2 weeks or so, I figured somethn out. The machine would only hang AFTER I had logged in, which told me it HAD to be software I was loading on login. Well, guess what. I nuked Bloat(live)Ware 3 for my SBlive, and voila! No more hangy! Not sure if I can explain why, but I now can load the 5.22 drivers with no problem! Damn liveware and those bloody soundfonts! They must have thought 2000 compatible meant it needed to take 2000 minutes to load the damn things. Here's my specs if you care.. Athalon 600 on an FIC SD11 190mb memory (yes, its all on amd's list.) Adaptec 2940u2w 2 9.1g lvd drives (damn, no 10k for those bad boys SBLive soundcard CL TNT2 (un-ultrad') All the latest bios and chipset updates.... Just my two cents! Hmmm, thx Dragon-Lord, I may heed the warning! Oh, btw, for those of you having refresh rate probs, I use powerstrip and it works like a charm, as long as your using NVIDIA drivers!

Ok, I've got some 3.x version on my 2k machine currently. Any specific installation procedures for these new ones? CO

Ugh, I can't seem to find the thread explaining the installation for DX8. Do I just run the bloody .exe or what? Sorry, my search skills must be toast..... CO

Dunno if anyone cares or has noticed, and no I did not do a search. I found new 2000 drivers for the Intellemouse that offer all the shtuff that u may need. http://www.microsoft.com/mouse It says you need to have a prior version on to install, but you cant install them. Just run the .exe after downloading and everything will work. Late!
