Anyone try these with XP yet? I looked into these when they came out and there support people said they were not going to make any Windows 2000 drivers. I just looked and there are Windows 2000 drivers or at least Windows 2000 is listed in the system requirements. TIA P.S. Got to reload stupid Nero!

Well I went and got a pair of the headphones and they work just fine. I used the W2K drivers. FYI

Also I uninstalled Nero. I tryed the newest wnaspi32 from adaptec just for shits and giggles no luck.

Thanks for the help but I have done that several times now. I build computers for myself and friends and am a Network Admin. Nero added something in the driver directory and I'm going to find it or end up starting over which really isn't that big a deal. Just was kind of hoping that someone might have already found out what the problem was thanks again.

Quote: You're lucky in a way, you at least always have a fallback in the native burnerware they include with the OS at least if you can still use it after your misfortunes. Nope my CD Writer is nothing but a CD Rom now Event log only error and it has been reported. I bet I will have to reformat and reinstall to get writing back.

I have an Adaptec 2930c with a Imation 8x20 which worked just fine till I loaded Nero. I burned 1 disk fine now XP doesn't see the Writer as a writer just a CDrom. I uninstalled the software restored from earlier date nothing has worked so far. You event log error is excatly what mine is. Nero must have added something in the system files but I don't know what it is. I uninstalled the Writer and the SCSI card no dice. Man this sucks.

Event Type: Information Event Source: Save Dump Event Category: None Event ID: 1001 Date: 12/23/2000 Time: 4:50:15 PM User: N/A Computer: RUNE Description: The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini122300-02.dmp. This happened for the first time yesterday and has happened 2 times since. I got a V5 5500 a few weeks ago and that is the only change I have done. Also it has rebooted when playing games. So I'm guessing it is something 3dfx left in the drivers or is it W2K code? Please anyone that has an idea please post. TIA

Well Hell if it seems it is a SCSI card causing these problems Creative just dropped the ball. I just got a SB Live and came to see if anyone else had the snap crackle pop with Quicktime? Everything else works fine including all my games. I do have a ADaptec 2930(something like that) for an external CDR. I will disable it and see what happens.

Well he was asking a perfectly legit question, and you just made yourself look pretty stupid with your post. I'm use to seeing 12 YO acting like l33t h4ck0>< he might not be. Something to think about.

It may be something with the way it loads drivers during start up cause I have to set the bios for PCI to work. W2K would see the card and load drivers but would report as unable to initialize video card in the device manager. Then again it may be the way the MB is setup to work. oops using an old Diamond Stealth 2 meg Vram on a 15" it is ok [This message has been edited by NotSoSmart (edited 08 June 2000).]

Or he could go get the Neatgear RT 311 Gateway Router with firewall protection. Damn lot cheaper that 3 linksys routers!

I'm testing DX 8 and have had no problems so far W2K. There was a different d/load for Win9x. I have not check it out yet but will soon. When you uninstall DX 8 it will put the DX 7 files back in place for you. At least that is what has been said in other forums.

Well I could never get these drivers to work with Tribes good thing is I was able to unistall them and reinstall the other drivers and keep the cool tools.
-
The MX-300 is Vortex 2 and Aureal has released Beta W2K drivers.......there are certain instructions to load them.....if you do not follow those instructions it WILL NOT WORK.
-
Just add the card and hook up the other monitor and away you go.
-
I use an old steath 3d 2 meg for a second monitor and W2k lists other S3 cards when I went to load drivers, but my steath 64 2 meg Vram was not supported and it is a better card

I have W2k pro on a duel boot with Win98. I have an ISDN netgear RH-348 router. From time to time I have people come over and we lan together and share the internet. Ok here is the wierd part.....when we all were connected (4 of us) playing Tribes on the internet after about 30 minutes the router would just clog up and I couldn't telnet into it, only way to get it back was to switch it off so it would reboot. This would ONLY happen when I was using W2k pro, I could use Win98 and no problem. I think I remember reading something a while back about W2k sending wacky packets if it wasn't configured correctly. The router is a DHCP server and gives out the IP's. If anyone has any ideas please drop a post.....or a link to anything about it. I can't find that article or anything about it on Micr$ofts site Oh it did this just while we were surfing also not just gaming.
-
I went back in the history as far as I could and only found a dead link. If someone could post a link to these drivers gets a big wet kiss Since Aureal looks to be going up in smoke TIA
-
There were some beta drivers on the page not to long ago.
-
No error's here but Quak3 won't run every other game I have will. Oh well only played it at lan-parties anyway just keep duel booting for a while. TRIBES RULZ

My system seems to be working fine but when I look at the event log there are several error's "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.(disk)(event 11) " and "A parity error was detected on \Device\Ide\IdePort0."(atapi)(event 5) Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this and or could this be because I'm overclocking a P!!!-450 to 600 and NT is picky enough the difference in the mhz to the IDE controller is cause the event error's? Thanks for any input or information.
