I have 2 NIC (same make & model)cards installed in a dual boot machine (Win98 & 2KP), it serves my other system. The IRQ's for the 2 NICs are different in 98, 11 & 9. But in 2K they are the same 9 & 9. When I use ICS in 98 it works like a charm. In 2K it drops service after heavy network traffic. I assume that its a problem with the IRQ's, b/c if i disable the card that hooks to my client to the server works just fine.
I have tried to modify the settings in the device manager and it does not offer me the option. I disabled PNP OS on my mother board and configured the IRQ's manualy and it didnt reconfigure when I booted 2K, however it worked in 98.
Any ideas?
