My floppy just died after the driver install too but I can get around it by disabling the"Vortex Multifunction PCI Parent". This isn't a very good fix but it will at least buy me some time to get a better sound card.

So ChaNce, where exactly did you find these infamous beta drivers?

This is the one thing keeping me from putting 2000 on my home system. If anybody has access to beta level drivers I'd be happy to give them a shot.

If you're using IPX- enable netbios over IPX on the Win9x systems.
