Nope... I also have an Erazor 3. Never been able to have them up and running under W2K. UT is incredible with those glasses under W9X. Half Life and Opposing Force are simply scaring with them. Sh*t!

As far as I remember -I'm at work now and cannot have a look under the hood of my box - : Search the registry for Glide. You should find a list of refresh rates for each display resolution. Edit the lines for the resolutions you want to force a minimum refresh rate. Default refresh rate should be 60 Hz. Just replace 60 by 85. Beware, do not mess with the lay-out of the editing window and carefully leave the dot separators as they are. Before editing, I would recommend to export the original registry key so that you will be able to restore in case you f**k the key. Good luck! -
You will most likely be memory limited by the hardware - mainboard/chipset - than by the os, anyway...

help me get my 2 creative voodoo2 going on win 2k ....
FrogMaster replied to celeron550's topic in Hardware
SHS, I guess they all have stolen your drivers! I give credit to you here! They worked for me. Celeron, I'm glad you are up and running now. I really hate 3dfx. Not having licensed or released to the public the glide API is their number one strategic mistake. If I were a shareholder I would have fired all the management. This board rocks. -

SLI is working fine on my box. SHS is right. You have to clean install W2K without the Voodoos installed. Get the special NT5 unsupported drivers (in fact hacked NT4 ones) from reactorcritical or 3dchipset or from somewhere else, and have them handy in a directory on some of your HDs. DO NOT USE the beta W2K drivers from 3dfx!!! They do not support pass-through. When W2K is up and running, well, leave it and switch off. Install your Voodoos, pass-through cable, etc. Start your box. When asked for, point to the place where you put your V2 drivers. Reboot when asked. Next start, W2K will detect again the 2nd Voodo and install the driver for it. Reboot, you're done. I have done that on two different boxes based on different chipsets (BX and VIA) and never had any prob. Of course, you will only have glide and ogl if you really want it. Glide is best for UT. Ogl will be ok for Q3A. 8 megs will limit the performance obviously (resolution and low texture mem). Good luck. PS : the worst thing to do is to upgrade from Win98 which will leave tons of garbage behind. If you want to keep it, reinstall it on a separate partition. ------------------ Asus CUV4X- 1006 bios - Celery2 Cumine 566 @ 875 MHz - 192 MB Pc100 SdRam - Seagate 6 GB - Seagate 4 GB - IBM 20 GB Ultra 66 - Iomega // Zip100 - Toshiba DVD SD-M1212 - HP Deskjet 815C - Philips Vesta Pro Webcam - NIC HP 10/100 - NIC Realtek 10/100 - Soho switch - Elsa Erazor X2 GeForce 256 DDR - 2xSTB BlackMagic Voodoo2s in SLI - Sound Blaster AWE 32- Alcatel 1000 ADSL - Dual boot WIN2K Pro and Win 98 -
Does anybody know where I can find the game_whl.exe patch from Logitech to recover wheel functionality in games? The link given in this forum a few months ago seems to be broken. I can't find the patch at their site. THX in advance.

Sorry Ronin... BTW I discovered this works by pure chance. I assembled this box from various bits and pieces laying around to make a dedicated Q3A server on my home lan. I was the first one surprised when I booted it up first time

Wrong! One of my rigs is as follows: Abit BP6 with one Celeron 500 running at 600 MHz (80 fsb x 7.5) and one Celeron 466 running at 560 (80 x 7). There is no problem at all. The only mandatory thing obviously is that they have to run at the same fsb speed. They can run at different core voltage settings and frequencies. Whatever the positions of the processors in socket #1 or socket #2, the bios will randomly boot from one or the other. Acpi works perfect and Win2k reports MPS multiprocessor, as will any utility such as Wcpuid report 2 processors.

Now running at 875 MHz at 1.6 V Vcore. Memory runs at 137 MHz. Win2k rock stable. Motherboard+processor costed an equivalent of US$ 260. I think this is good value. Some more quiet burnin and next step will be 105 fsb to go to 892 MHz.

Sorry to be a little provocative. Everyday we see more and more topics related to Win9x and Me, without anything to do with NT compatibility. Next step would be game console discussion? Admins, maybe time has come either to open a new section dedicated to Win9x or to ban such threads. I noticed that this forum is silently losing its focus. There are thousands of W9x forums out there, but only one high value-add NT place. It would be a pity to let it go further down this bad road

Hey why did my Winblows thread get closed?
FrogMaster replied to Four and Twenty's topic in Legacy OS
Yep, let's stop bashing innocent lost souls. Better convert them to W2K. ... before they upgrade to MacOs... -

FrogMaster replied to hotrod1629's topic in Legacy OS
There is no WindozeYou user around there. Sorry you came to the wrong forum. -
I expect next M$ mainstream os will be F**kMe, then F**kYou. I'm pissed off.

Is this forum devoted to NT/W2K and their children or not? Is this the right place to discuss the respective merits of those sh**ty W9x oses? Admins, with more and more topics like that everyday, this forum is in danger of losing its focus and value. It would be bad.

I fully approve what Eddie said. Piracy is definitely bad. Very bad. Hmmm, bad. Well ... [This message has been edited by FrogMaster (edited 13 September 2000).]

This is my favourite forum ... yes, definitely One question: the line saying how many members and visitors are browsing the boards seems to have gone. I liked to have this info when coming to the board. It was nice to know other people being on-line.

Did you try the NT4 drivers?

New VIA 4 in 1 Drivers... Does someone want to test them?
FrogMaster replied to evil Homer's topic in Hardware
Just installed these new drivers on a brand new system based on an ASUS CUV4X. No prob, very stable, besides the fact that I cannot get AGP 4x mode as in Win98 ; I get only AGP 2x. Does anybody know why I get only 2x mode in W2K? Just to know. I dunno care about the 2-3 extra fps I get when 4x is enabled in Win98. -
Guys, This discussion is helping me alot JoshKerr's BBS software seems to look like what I'm looking for. I would not discuss semantics, what is the difference between a BBS or a forum. What I want is something similar to UBB able to run in an IIS/SQL + Notes environment. May sound crazy, he he. Anyway, I've to find a solution.
