The memory might be bad. Or they just don't like each other. Try using just the pc 133 and see what happens. If everything is good then the ram is good but not with each other. I have heard problems on some boards using 256 meg ram chips. Maybe if you get 2 128 meg ram chips might help also.

Glad I could help you. Good luck. Any more problems don't be afraid to ask.

Try taking out the pc 100 ram first. Test that out. Let me know if that works.
-
Yeah. Goto winnt/system32 Also you will find DVDplayer also.
-
I am thinking maybe it would be the ram. I heard that you need good ram with the Athlon. What is the speed of the ram? I know you said PC100. I have 6n and 7n. That is what I would suggest. Did you know that ABIT is coming out with an Athlon board also? Asus is good also but I would recommend Abit. (Please no flames about this)

It looks to me but most (not all) people that are having problems with the newest Liveware for Win2k are running dual processors. Maybe because they had the Nt4.0 drivers installed first or something but this is just my theory. I am running single processor and everything is great.

Please give us info on what hardware you have and what software you have running in the background. Do you have beta drivers for any hardware? Are you overclocking anything?
-
Why don't you save some time and "search" this form for every answer to every question you have about Sblive install. If you haven't messed with installing anything yet make sure you ONLY use the released drivers off sblive.com to save you some time.
-
Try installing newer ASPI Drivers. This should solve the problem. Or try using a different program like CDR Win and see if that works.
-
mr. yellow, Thanks for the response. I just have been reading peoples problems and most of them do have dual processors. I don't get any of those problems that you were describing and I have a single cpu and I ran everything from nt4.0 drivers to dell to you name it. I guess I am one of the "lucky" ones.

Sorry, This isn't a "Warez" board. If you are able to find Win2000 then why can't you find that program. Good luck trying to get it from us.

Is the harddrive on the the primary or the ATA66 controller? You might need the ATA66 drivers and press f6 during reboot if the harddrive is on the ATA66 controller. HPT right? I have the BE-6 not the BE-6 2 though. Maybe if you remove the SCSI stuff also during install. Don't know if that will help but never know.

First get a job. Then save your money. Then go to the store. Then BUY Windows 2000. Problem solved!
-
But isn't it true that the Liveware drivers from Nt4.0 don't support Dual Processors? So if you installed these first then installed the released drivers this could cause a conflict. So yes, you will have to remove all the drivers first and install the released drivers.
-
Why do you want to do that? If you think you have problems with Win 2k then wait until you go to Beos. Why not boot Win2k and Beos instead?

I just have a celeron 300a at 464 with a Voodoo3 3000 and DVD is perfect. I would say look for newer drivers for your controller card. I am sure that if you enable DMA that would double your performance. Just for sake of argument I disabled DMA and my DVD playback was very choppy. I quickly enabled DMA and everything is a-o-k. I have heard of people using Intel Bus Mastering drivers with that chipset but I don't want to say to do that but it could be worth a try.

My DVD-Rom is a Toshiba SD-M1102. (2x DVD and 20x CD-rom).

I have my DVD drive on the same cable at my CDRW. When you go to Device Manager and click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, what is the first item listed? I am curios as to what Bus Master IDE controller you are using. Should say something like IntelĀ® 82371AB/EB Pci Bus Master IDE Controller then Primary IDE Channel then Secondary IDE Channel.

I have a new Mustek 1200 CP and it work perfect in Win2000. Installed drivers and started scanning in 2 minutes. No Reboot after drivers installed. Only $59 and it does 600x1200 (hardware) and 48 bit color.

I am unable to enable Hardware accel. also but it runs perfect in PowerDVD.

(my hdd is detected as DMA though) the drivers i use for that are the ones that come standard with win2k and my voodoo3 has the latest drivers. so, i'm still unsure as to why it won't detect as DMA. would it improve the DVD playback (i.e. will it make the movie less jerky) and nobody said anything about enabling the hardware accelerator function in powerdvd I am using the Voodoo3 3000 AGP with PowerDVD 2.5+ and with DMA unchecked playback WILL be jerky. Even with a hardware DVD card. I have 192 meg ram and only a 2x DVD but playback is perfect (even with the SBlive). Go to the controller card in the device manager and if it is on the Primary click on that option of if it is on Secondary click that option to enable DMA. Also maybe if the Harddrive is on the same cable you might want to move the DVD to its own cable. They recommend that also.

So how can i get around this? Also, with powerDVD in its options in the video tab the box to use a hardware accelerator is greyed olut and says is only available in stop mode. how do i get to stop so i can turn this on? What motherboard are you using? Check your bios. Check for newer drivers for you controller card. Check for newer drivers for your video card. Also make sure you are running the newest version of PowerDVD.

I would recommend Power DVD 2.5 +. Much better.

You are going to the wrong place. Don't click on the DVD Drive in device manager. Go to the controller card in Device Manager. It is where you change DMA.
