Anyone been able to get a Mustek scanner to work under Win2K
rbarbier replied to Andy_25's topic in Hardware
My Mustek 1200 CP works like a charm. Even without rebooting. Only $59 at Wal-Wart and it does 600x1200 and 48 bit color. -
miguelidanez All I did was click on Configuration...Audio...Use DirectSound....(Make sure it is NOT on USE WAVE OUT) Make sure it IS ON Use DirectSound. Then DirectSound 3d. Works great!

Make sure you have DMA selected in the Device Manager. Start--Settings--Control Panel--System--Hardware--Device Manager--Your controller that you DVD Rom is on--Advanced Settings--Transfer Mode. Hope this helps.

Mustek 1200 CP. Only $59 at Wal-Mart. 600x1200 48 bit color. Installed with no problem. Didn't even have to reboot and I started scanning right away. Good software also.

I don't understand why so many people are having problems with this. I am very pleased with the new LiveWare. I have a SoundBlaster Live Value and everything works great for me. I used everything from the "hacked NT 4.0" to the Dell one and the Beta ones. Now I am using the released ones off the Creative site. All 4 speakers work including Power DVD. What I would recommend is making sure you go to add/remove software first and remove everything that has to do with your Live card. Then remove the drivers from the Device manager then installing the released ones

Check your email KAOS. Liveware works perfect for me and I installed all different ones. Now I am using the official ones off their site.

Even easier. Double click on the modem lights and click on details. Bam. There you go.

First off let me state that I don't believe in Piracy. It is wrong no matter what way you look at it. Everyone has done is. How many of you or your family members have VHS movies that are copied? Or CD's that are copied or audio cassettes? People don't look at this as being wrong but it is the same thing. Go rent a movie and record it and bring it back. My second point is I think companys that make hardware love computer software piracy. People that steal software on the internet usually have the best computers because they are always upgrading to run the latest software and games they normally would not have purchased. Just my thoughts.

Why don't you try Twister or Titanic. Those two are great for sound systems.

Anyone got problems with voodoo3 retail drivers for win2k
rbarbier replied to Hellstorm's topic in Games
Those drivers are great for my system. Unreal Tournament runs perfect. Quake 3 also. No random crashes as in Windumb98 StupidEdition. -
I make things easy on you I will let you know to use Lucent 56K modem (as stated on this site). Works perfect for me. Only minor problem is that is says I am connected at 115.2k (I wish).

Whats the difference between Ultra DMA and a normal IDE hard
rbarbier replied to Xetenor's topic in Hardware
Ultra DMA has a faster transfer rate. 7200 rpm drives have faster access rate. You should look for one that is 7200 rpm and UDMA66 for the best performance if you have a controller card that supports UDMA66 like HPT 366 or a Promise. I have heard that IBM actually makes the best 7200 drives. I don't think any company out there make drives that are not UDMA 33 at least. -
Just rename it to .bin and run award flash. That is all I did. Works perfect for me. Include bios 1.22 for the HPT controller card.
