    Win2k Blue Screen errors

Hi, I keep getting Blue screen errors. Mainly Kmode errors on NTOSKRNL, a few errors cause by VetNT (part of Inoculan) But mainly NTOSKRNL errors. Anyideas? Seem fairly random, It needs a power on and off and not a reset button since the Graphics card seems to lock up and the mouse needs uunplugging and replugging in to get it working again. PC Chips M5777 (Via Chipset) Intel 740 AGP craphics card PS2 mouse. Diamond V90 Internal modem. Only beta drivers available for the Modem and graphics card. Any ideas what is causing this and why would be apprecieated. Best Regards Lurb
  3. I have just got an IBM 34GXP 20.5 gb also available in 34GB version. It is fast, 7200rpm and has a good bench mark and review at www.storagereview.com. For the fastest drive, u have to get a Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 40, but some peeps have been moaning about them in the forum on Storage review.
  4. Hi, I have got three error messages that keep coming up in the event log. All of them come up on start up. I have only just reinstalled Win 2000. I installed Nortons Antivirus 2000 which caused multiple errors in the event log so I uninstalled it. I assume that it is to blame for some of these messages. There are 2 messages in the Application Log section: Number 1: Event Type: Error Event Source: WinMgmt Event Category: None Event ID: 37 Date: 12/03/2000 Time: 12:04:49 User: N/A Computer: WEIRDO-SERVER Description: WMI ADAP was unable to load the perfproc.dll performance library due to an unknown problem within the library: 0x0 Number 2: Event Type: Information Event Source: Oakley Event Category: None Event ID: 542 Date: 12/03/2000 Time: 12:06:57 User: N/A Computer: WEIRDO-SERVER Description: The IP Security policy for ISAKMP/Oakley specified an encryption algorithm that is invalid due to export cryptography restrictions. All 3DES encryption used by ISAKMP/Oakley is weakened to standard DES encyption. Generally, this is benign. ISAKMP/Oakley will still be able to negotiate IP security parameters, and protect that negotiation with DES encryption. This should only be of concern if you demand that the ISAKMP/Oakley negotiation be protected with 3DES encryption. If this is the case, please contact your network administrator. And in the System log I get this error message: Event Type: Error Event Source: Server Event Category: None Event ID: 2506 Date: 12/03/2000 Time: 12:03:57 User: N/A Computer: WEIRDO-SERVER Description: The value named IRPStackSize in the server's Registry key LanmanServer\Parameters was invalid. The value was ignored, and processing continued. Data: 0000: 57 00 00 00 W... I have replaced the Perfproc.dll mentioned in the first error message with one off the Win2k CD. I also keep getting NTOSKRNL crashes ever so often with no obvious pattern. My Computer is: AMD K6 2 500 64MB Ram (Cube) SB16 ISA Diamond Supra Express V.90 Internal NE2000 Comp ISA NIC Intel 740 AGP Graphics PC Chips M577 Mother board (I think it is a Via chip set but it is stamped PC100, Windows picks it up as a Via) IBM 34GXP 20.5GB HD (Primary Master) Ricoh MP7040A 4x4x20 CDRW (Secondary Master) BCD 24x CDROM (Secondary Slave) Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks In Advance Lurb

    Asus V2740 I740 OpenGL/D3D

Hi, The OpenGL crack is supposed to work in the Beta versions of Win2k and in NT 4. (I think, but it doesn't work in the final 2k) For D3D drivers go to http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel740/740_beta.htm And for more informatio on how peeps are getting on try here: http://support.intel.com/newsgroups/graphics01.htm And browse the forum with the link at the bottom. UT isn't supposed to work with the beta drivers but it is one step closer. I hope this has helped Best Regards Lurb
