    THANK YOU!! It worked! I installed the 70 meg Live ware 2000 and Thief had sound, but no EAX, even though it showed hardware accelleration in there, so following your advice I changed that slider over and Wham! It worked!!

    Doh! Sorry I'm an idiot. I forgot to post the card I'm using. Yup, it's an SBlive! XGamer or something like that. I found the sblive drivers on this forum for download for Win2K so I got them, but I don't want to screw anything up. I installed Thief in Win98 and it works fine, except there's no sound. The current drivers for my SBlive are the ones that installed with Win2K.

    Thief runs fine under win2K, but there's no sound. I'm using Win2K Pro, build 2195 with the drivers that installed from the CD. Half-Life and most everything else I try has sound. Should I install those leaked Creative drivers? I've searched all these forums and the Thief forums to no avail on this. Thanks in advance!
