I need some help. I have 4 windows 2000 pc's on a network. I use pcAnywhere 9.2 to talk to the other pc's when I need to do stuff on them. Now one of the win2k pro pc's will not let me connect to it thru tcp/ip in pcanywhere. I can't even ping its ip address. now that troublesome win2k pc can ping everyone fine. What can possible be the problem that keeps me from connecting to it thru tcp/ip in pcanywhere??? Any help will be much appreciated! -Dredd

Yea it is host mode. The TCP/IP seems to fail after installing PC Anywhere 9.02. When I take it off it functions fine. I don't get it. This is the first PC that I have ever had trouble with. -Dredd

Does anyone know of the direct download link for IE 5.01 SP1. The links on all the sites take me to IE's website but all I see listed under the Downloads section is all the patches separate. Is there not a combined file with them all?

Wanted to know if anyone knows how to fix my PC so when I choose shutdown it actually turns the PC off for me. I have an Aopen AX63Pro and I just flashed it with the new bios. I also have an Abit BE6II and when I installed 2000 on that it shuts down for me. So what can I do to enable the PC to shut down on the AX63Pro. Thanks for any help given. -Dredd

Where do you go to actually copyright it with the US Gov't? And what forms do you fill out. They seem to have quite a few to choose from.

I keep locking up when I am playing TheSims. I have applied the new patch hoping that would fix the issue, but it has not. The amount of time I am playing the game till it locks is inconsistent. I am using the default Win2k drivers for my Diamond Viper V550. Does anyone know what my problem could be? My system is: Aopen AX63 Pro Celeron 300a at 450 192 MB RAM Diamond Viper V550 PCI 128 Any help would be much appreciated. -Dredd

Well I switched my video drivers to the Release Candidate of 3.78 and they worked great. My other games don't crash and neither does TheSims. So whatever it was that was causing it before it is gone now. Its weird that all the other leaked detonator drivers that I have tried don't work but 3.78 do. Oh well. Thanks for the help.

I have tried the 3.78 drivers and my other games crash and burn with them. Most of my other games will reboot me after 1 minute with those drivers. I thought TheSims would work with Win2k but apparently not.

I agree totally. Windows 2000 has run like a champ for me also. I too am waiting for Creative Labs to release the Dxr3 drivers so my DVD will work right. I had to remove it and put it in another Win98 system. But aside from that Win2k is the best. [This message has been edited by Dredd (edited 31 March 2000).]

Use a Win98 boot disk to get into a dos-mode then flash the bios. Works fine with me with Win2k.....

I wasn't flaming you at all! All I was asking was why you were doing it. Seems you need an attitude adjustment. Not all of us are *******s and if you want treated in a decent manner than grow up and not act like a child when you reply back to people. I understand what you are saying and it is fine with me. I like to experiment too. So calm yourself down and watch what you write.

I don't have an answer to your problem, but I have a question. Why are you trying to play games with Win2k Advance Server. It is not designed to play games on. It is a Server!

I have an old ISA Advansys SCSI card that I need to work in Windows 2000. I ran the Microsoft upgrade checker and it failed at that. Is there any way to get this card to work. I use it just for my cd burner. Thanks

Does Risk2 work on windows 2000? When i try to play it, it reboots my pc. What is wrong with my PC?
