You could dual boot, and just install the components that you need for this service in W98. It would only fill up 200mb on your hd.

The only prob I have had with this board is the 4th memory slot It would cause my pc to lock up in IE (of all things). Once I removed the 4th stick of memory I was ok Now up to 1.3 GB pc133 sdram and the board has been gr8 2x512 1x256

Hmm...Sorry then Anck I can't help you. Maybe someone else will know the solution.

The files have gone b4 rebooIts because you shift-deleted them in the left window pane of explorer. E.g. Say you wanted to delete c:\temp\me.jpg Expand your C: drive on the left. Click on the temp folder so that you can see me.jpg in the right window of explorer. When you shift delete the file now, it will disappear. If you deleted this file on the left, explorer refreshes but because you have the file highlighted it says the file is in use even tho it's gone. To prove it has deleted just open up another folder and press F5. Then go back into the folder you were deleteing from, et voila. HTH

When you said you upgraded all the mobo drivers etc.. Did you mean you just plonked your HD into your new machine???? If so, you really need to format and reinstall everything again. That should quicken everything up no end.

I rather think you are asking a bit much of the people on this forum. No-one is gonna download this m8 > A.) It is a beta patch game. B.) Maybe no-one wants to play it. The people on this forum are only too pleased to help if they have the necessary problem software/hardware. Maybe you should call or email the authors of the software? They do 'support' right? Its what I would do anyway.

XP was runing fine on my bp6 machine. I upgraded my V3 3000 to a gef2 mx400 (hardly an upgrade I know). Installed the det21.81's and then received bsod afetr bsod after bsod and auto rebooting. I had XP also running on my CUV4x-d machine and was running fine until i got the same errors after installing latest dets. After much searching and mooching around on other forums, it seems the latest dets have been responsible for hosing quite a few machines. Does this concur with anybody else?

Cool I imaged my XP install with the 21.81 dets, so I spose I can just use the 'rollback feature' to get back to the 12.41's ;-)

Have you tried a different dialup?

I have the GTXP, and it works very well for me. Others it seems to be a bit hit and miss. Check out this forum and read up a bit on the dif specs. When I checked my cd it had the 4.02 drivers on already. So I guess its for the bin, coz I aint gonna install W98 again just to use the bladdy thing.

I just the pctv rave card, and for the first time ever that I have bought something to work in W2k I didn't check the compatability The bladdy thing keeps freezing my pc up. Got the 4.0's dling overnight see if that helps. Gah!

This can happen if you have NERO and EZCD installed. Its best if you use just one.
