Have you tried uninstalling PowerDVD and then removing and adding your drives again? If the problems only arose after installing PowerDVD, it would be best to remove the ofending aplication and start again. Hopefully it was just a dodgy install.

I bought GP3. Installs fine, but just crashes out to desktop after calibration of graphics. This is with the latest patch and without. Select your folder in the left hand pane of explorer, so that all the thumbnails are in the right hand pane. Goto view > details. I know you say you are asking something different, but thats how I am reading it. Again.

In explorer: Click view > details (or whatever) You should see thumbnails there, just select something different

Have you put the 192.168.0.1 as the default gateway?

I got the Sidewinder FF pro 2, and it works ok in W2k except that in StarLancer I do not get Force Feedback; even though I get it in W98SE. I have just purchased the GamePad Pro 2 USB also, and that works fine. What version of the Sidewinder have you got? Mine is release ver 4.0, and this is supposed to fix some stuff in W2k. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Microsoft still haven't updated their Game controller software on their site, so you can only Download 3.02 So you have to buy a new pad or JS to get 4.0 which IMHO really sucks! Xiven, You can save yourself a s.hitload of hassle by creating an image with norton Ghost or Drive image pro. You would then be back to normal with W2k etc in 10 minutes. If there is any application that is worth its money, its Norton Ghost.

You'll be lucky ! I had 3 of them GA-5AX with a K6 3/450 pieces of shite, and in the end I gave it to someone else afetr 3 months of pissing about. Surf the net ! ???? LOL, he had trouble with the Ali Agp using a Creative Banshee PCI and surfing the net, it would just hang. So he had to drop back his bios of the banshee, and drop back the ali agp driver to get it working.. BTW, this is only a shortterm fix, and he frequently has to reinstall every 4 weeks or so. Another thing, to install Win98se on a GA-5AX I had to disable internal cache in the bios. Don't know if its the same for W2k, but it just might help you. You can re-enable it after the install has finished (which takes forever without it enabled :[ ). But..basically, be prepared for a world of hurt and much p.issing about with that board. Yak --

I have a bp6, dual cellys 433 (not o/c), 384 MB Ram, the rest is not essential. I have 3 HD's in this machine 1 udma33 HD,1 ata66, and 1 ata100. The ata66 is on normal EIDE, as is the udma33 HD, a dvd, and a cdrom. The ata100 is being controlled using highpoint controllers 1.25 The BP6 only supports ata66, but this HD has been happily running .....until yesterday I booted up and it took 45 mins to come up, reporting a bad block on bootup. Files I had dl'd the night had crc erros. I decided to clean down, and format . Event Viewer: The driver has detected that \devicescsi\HPT366I has old or out-of-date firmware. Reduced performance may result. This leads me tyo believe that the hpt drivers are dodgy, so, I reinsdtalled them. No joy Another thing, (don't know if its related, but all my fonts on webpages have gone large) a) will running an ata100 @ ata66 ruin the HD? Can anyone shed some light on the above? Cheers Yak --

Anyone tried one of these yet? I am thinking of getting one, as I have just found out that creative (after deciding not to support their live and all the probs with w2k and smp systems) have decided to release LW5 with their 5.1 cards. Which means basically, if you want support, buy their new card. Which SUCKS if you ask me. So, I won't be buying creative again. The new hercules card looks the dogs nads ,and has had very favourable reviews on the firingsquad site etc. JUst wondered if any of youse lot had tried one. Yak --

If so, you need to go to > Gamespy > Games and Filters From there find the location of the .exe and add the cmd lines you need.
