Isn't there a setting in the BIOS to enable this? It might be under power management. I can't recall the exact setting though.

Are you sure you have enough cooling? Did you use anything like Artic Silver?

For what it is worth, I have the 1212u and it works fine in Win2k.

If you want to compress a folder, go to Windows Explorer. Right click on the folder you want to compress. Go to Properties, then advanced and click the compress checkbox.

So the other computers are NT4? The computer management thing only works if you connect to other Win2k machines. If you need to connect to a NT4 machine, just copy user manager to you Win2k machine and run it from there.

NT4 doesn't support USB. You would have to upgrade to Win2k.

I vote for NASCAR Racing 4. That game rocks.

It is hooked up to my Win2k Server machine. My cable modem activity light is always blinking. I am not sure what is sending data over my modem. I checked my startup and there is nothing out of the ordinary running. I stopped all services which could be causing this, but it still blinks. Does Win2k server have any services that hits the net all the time? If I shut the box off the blinking stops, so I know it is not data coming into the modem. Any ideas?

Here is an event I have in my Zone Alarm Pro log: The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (UDP Port 7062) from 204.127.202.4 (DNS). Why would zone alarm block this? Any idea?

NT 4.0 doesn't support USB. I know Palm made a serial cradle, but I think all the new ones, ie Handspring, Sony and etc, all have USB. You could changes OS's to one that supports USB, like Win98, Win2k, or XP.

I thought about that too, but I would think that would be a one time thing till your IP address needs to be renewed. -
Do you find you get less birthday presents with your birthday so close to Christmas? I guess it isn't as bad as having your birthday on Christmas day.

I have Norton Internet Security running and it shows nothing in the log. BTW, the light blinks almost constantly. -
I have never heard that frequent formatting shortens the life of disk. The disks today have a lot longer life expectancy than they use to.
