I just changed my SB Live for a F2 last week. I really like it and it sounds great. Can't beat the price, they have it for $34 OEM at newegg.

I download the multiplayer test of wolfenstien, but every game I entered, after about 2 minutes, I kept saying I was having connection problems. What's up with that? BTW, my pings were like 50-70.

I have 2 hard drives in my system. One is NTFS, the other if FAT32. If I boot to a Win98 boot disk, I should be able to see the FAT32 drive, right? Right now, that doesn't work and I can't figure out why. Any ideas?

When I boot, I go straight to the command prompt. I bypass all the startup files.

You get this stop message when you are installing Win2k, or after the installation is done?

Answer for "What services do I need running?"

As soon as I turned the service back on, all ran normally. Quote: Hmmm, How do you figure it did that? Do you use multiple profiles in your email setup?? * APK P.S.=> I am curious why you'd state that, & can only figure it affected your using multiple user profiles/email accounts there... first I have heard of that happening, so I am speculating here, tell us all specifics on what "screwed up" means... apk -
Has anyone run in to PC133 memory dieing after 2to3weeks?

Are you overclocking? Maybe you are running your voltage to high, causing them to overheat. -

Don't disable the "RunAs" Service. I did that and it screwed up my Outlook Express. -

Are you running Win2k with the Geforce Tweak Utility?
-
Ok....yesterday the fan on my Geforce card was making a grinding noise. I took the card out, removed the fan, cleaned it up a bit, put the fan back on and reinstalled the card. When I went to turn the computer back on, the hard drive lights and the CD-ROM drive came on and never shut back off. The monitor will turn on briefly then shuts off and displays the message "DPMS Mode Off". The computer never boots I took the Geforce card out, threw it in another computer and it worked fine. I put a PCI video card in my "bad" computer and the same thing happened. Do you think I fried the motherboard? I am getting a new mb/cpu today, but I did want to sell the current CPU and motherboard. Any ideas?

Win2k automatically assings all the IRQ's, they cannot be changed.

Couple of other things to try: 1) if you are running OpenGL change it to Direct3d and visa versa. 2) Run the graphics at the same resolution as your desktop 3) Try the forums at http://www.sportplanet.com/team-lightspeed

I am running N4 with no problems on my Win2k box. Have you installed the latest BIOS for you motherboard?
-
Maybe you could try putting the CD in another computer, and verify that all the files can be read. Is this an original or a ***** copy of Win2k?

Right now I have a 500VA UPS. Here is what I need to power to in the electricity goes out: 1 - computer w/ 250W power supply 1 - computer w/ 300w power supply 1 - 19" monitor 1 - cable modem 1 - 10/100 hub If I buy another 500VA UPS, would that be enough power to power everything?

Are you sure the CD you have of Win2k is good? Have you used the CD to install Win2k before?

I would say it has something to do with DirectDraw. What kind of video card does he have?

Have you downloaded the patch for the AMD/Geforce combo? See this link: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q270/7/15.ASP

Maybe you should freeze it AND turn it upside-down.
-
Why do I get this error message, when this message board has only 5 people logged on? "The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later."
-
Try and freeze it a little longer. Maybe try and freeze it for 10 hours. When it worked for me, I was able to access the data for about 15 minutes, then the drive got hot and it started to "thaw out"
-
I have done this and it works, no joke: Put the hard drive in a zip-lock bag and stick it in the freezer for about 6 hours. Take the hard drive out of the freezer, hook it up to your computer real quick, and access it. You should be able to get data off it.
