I get the same problem when I have both of my sound cards enabled (SBLive & YMF724). Apparently LW3.0 for Win2K can't deal with 2 soundcards (although it wasn't a problem in Win98). When I disable the YMF724, I'm able to load the mixer. Not sure if you have 2 sound cards though. MR

Amen brother! Why is this tiny little piece of freeware expiring? Expirations & cumbersome copy protection schemes have made me consider turning to 'the dark side' for software. This annoys me too.

Max, MaStAyOdA - I too have dwelled in this cave! Tried to install the Dell drivers over the hacked LW3 drivers. BSOD & reboot no matter what. I tried everything & gave up. 24 hours later, I reformatted & clean installed, used the Dell drivers & now everything works. I am scared to death to try the *NEW* CL drivers.

Ditto with a Sidewinder. No software required. Occasionally I have to re-detect though.

I got them to install - when it asks you to insert your PCTV CD, click OK, choose the directory where the 4.0 drivers unzipped & install the Win2K drivers. I still can't get the damn thing to work - nothing but snow on every channel. Selecting the 'Configuration' option causes a freeze & reboot. I'll have to keep playing with it to figure it out. MR

I just saw the update here at NTcompatible. Looks awesome - I'm downloading now. Now if I could only get some of my MIDI programs working in Win2K, I could recover that 400mb that ME is wasting. Thanks, MR

The Pinnacle website states that the PCTV (PCI TV tuner/capture card) is not designed to run in NT or Win2K. Has anyone had any luck getting this card to work in Win2K? I'd rather not dual boot for this. My Windows ME drive is set up exclusively for MIDI/sound recording. Thanks, MR

I used the Lexmark 5700 NT4 drivers and everything worked fine. They look & feel different from the 9x drivers - but they work in Win2K 2195. Did you try this?
