I wouldn't be soo annoyed if CL just said "we'll give you the drivers when hell freezes over or thereabouts" - instead of giving us bull**** dates like mid may/mid june -- then not delivering till eary july. its a crock of **** the service that they provide. Matt

The drivers have been received from MS. At this point, it looks like they may be posted some time next week (probably towards the end of the week). This is kind of lousy timing since we are going into a 4 day holiday weekend and won't be back until the middle of the week, but the light is at the end of the tunnel. --------------- So creative have their damned drivers back, how about they just post the drivers instead of dumbass newsgroup articles about their intent... I NEED THOSE DRIVERS. _matt

Am i the only person seeing the end of this week quickly aproaching, and no sign of any drivers? Matt.

Liveware 3.0 for Windows2000: Where the hell is it?
archetype replied to Mondain98's topic in Hardware
Firstly, who thinks that the news that creative are only late because they were waiting for certification is a load of bollocks? And secondly, Ben, Ronin... really? do we need to judging each other on the size of our processors? - i mean, if we are gonna do such a thing, shouldn't we at least do it right, and all just slap our penis' out on the table? -
Liveware 3.0 for Windows2000: Where the hell is it?

"As for DVD, it is a consumer product, not a business product. Be happy there is any dvd support at all in win2k." Am i the only person on the planet who totally disagree's with the bracket that windows 2000 seems to have been put into by certain people? Time and time again, this whole _argument_ regarding win2k's status as a _business_ product comes up, and time and time again it bugs the living hell out of me... am i not a consumer? i imagine that a fair few percent of the people who read and contribute to this board aren't actively using win2k as a business operating system, and a whole board of games posts certainly seems to point in that direction. I'm sorry, but it is not okay for any manufacturer to sit back and say, "well, its a business OS, we have no real need to support it" -- what a load of crap. What catagory does windows 2k fall into then? well in my opinion it falls into the "extremely stable, pretty darned quick, very usable and extremely nifty OS" -- to call it either consumer of business it totally wrong, and to use either definition as an excuse for poor support from either the business or consumer manufacturing market is pisspoor to say the least. Having purchased this game a few days ago, and having played it for a couple of days, i'm hooked - so you can imagine my anger now, that when i end a mission in any way shape or form, be that by quitting out, completing, or dying... the game bombs out to windows. This has not always been the case, and all that i have installed between it working fine and not working fine is macromedia director 8 -- so can anyone help me... i want to be able to play my game... it rocks, i love it... *tsk tsk* a new microsoft game, not working in a new microsoft OS... how my mac/linux using friends laughed. Arche btw... what i got... FIC SD11 mobo Athlon750 384 Meg Ram Creative Labs GeForce Pro (running 5.14) SB Live Player 1024 (running liveware 2000) Generic NIC device Generic Modem device Belkin Firewire card Adaptec SCSI card (CD version) 2x20gig HD 10xDVD rom 40xCD rom all running under win2k-professional. Bills got enough on his plate, what with the DOJ, i'm sure he won't mind you posting SP1 on your FTP server... however, his lawyers might, but if microsoft can argue its okay for them to break the law... i don't see why you can't bend it a little... maybe... not that i endorse... anything. Archey

I'de been running with a bog standard SB16 for abotu two months with not a single problem. Why in hells name did i decide to upgrade(upgrade? HAH) to an SB Live then? Christ himself only knows. Is anyone able to tell me the best driver to be running with this card, not that there are that many to chose from. As of NOW, the card has been responsable for Starlancer stopping working, and the audio from the card breaks up randomly, especially when two sounds try to play at the same time (MP3 playing and a windows sound kicks in) -- its utter garbage. Please, someone help me in my task of making my computer run like a star -- as it stands, i'm binning this crappy card and putting in my old SB16 if i get no satisfaction from the live card, quickly. OH damn me to god and back, why didn't i think to goto the manufacturer website, and download the drivers... You're absolutly right, that was sarcasm. I've got the drivers from the creativelabs website, and they're dump beyond belief. Any idea when new drivers will be making their way onto the market anyone? Archey

I have a feeling its my SB live drivers that may be causing me my problems, i only mention this cos it was fein before i bought the new audio card, now after installing it its gone belly up - however, it did work for about 6 hours after the new installation of the drivers... so - strange. Archey

Its not so much that it crashes frequently, i mean but for this one problem, i only ever have a lockup every now and then which i have anyhows due to geforce/athlon/win2k stuff - i'm used to that and can deal with it - i've actualyl closed down everything, killing off all non essential processes and still cannot seem to make the game run beyond one mission, and the worst part being it crashes and dumps before it autosaves, so i cannot go any further in the game
