I AM using the latest version of ECDC (4.02c).
-
Where would I find/get the following files if I don't have them? I think this may be my problem with getting ECDC to work. CDR4vsd.sys7/30/199960688bytes\system\drivers cdrmmc.sys 8/19/199916640bytes\system\drivers cdrpwd.sys 4/14/199969984bytes\system\drivers cdudf.sys 8/19/1999 230656byte\system\drivers udfreadr.sys7/29/1999216304bytes\system\drivers cdr4dll.dll 7/30/1999 47616 bytes \system32 roboex32.dll 10/27/1998 127996 bytes\system32

Please email them to me! Send them to brandonward@mindspring.com. Thanks!

The writer has the same problems in 98 and 2K. I've tried Nero and it will burn at 2X but not 4X. ECDC tries to burn at 2X but the disk is unreadable. I don't see the point of not being able to burn at full speed. I had it working when I first installed Win2K, but that was 5 or 6 installs ago (formatted between each install). System is not overclocked. DMA is turned on. Jumpers are correct. BIOS 5.3 (Microstar BX Master) All drivers are up to date, I think. Are they both clean installs seperate of one another? As in, did you install Win2K while booted in Win98? If so it should have taken care of it for you. If not, the easiest way to do it is to format the Win2K drive and then boot into Win98. Then install Win2K to the newly formatted drive. Presto chango you have dual boot.

I have experienced that also. My screen would also go black for a second. I've had to reinstall since then and it doesn't happen anymore.

Does anybody know of a good video card that will run at 89MHz without any problems? farphle

Hey guys, I just installed an MSI BX Master mobo and can't get WIN2K to boot while on the UDMA66 controller. My system is dual boot with WIN98 and WIN2K (on seperate partitions). WIN98 will boot just fine. WIN2K has the Promise drivers installed (done during setup) but all I get is "NTLDR is missing...". I would really appreciate any help on this. I hate having good controllers on my board that I can't use! Specs are: Microstar BX MAster (Intel 440BX) PIII 600EB 256Mb PC-100 SDRAM Maxtor 20GB HP 8250i CDRW Memorex 48x CDROM Diamond Stealth 3 S540 Xtreme (POS, I know) Soundblaster Live Value Diamond SupraExpress PCI modem D-Link 10/100 NIC

All is fixed! The HDD mode was set to CHS in the bios so the Promise controller couldn't read it. All I had to do was set it to LBA, format both partitions and reinstall everything. Damn, what a pain.

I will try the repair tonight.

The setting in the bios is set to boot from ATA66,SCSI. I have to disable the primary UDMA33 controller, then tell the primary ATA66 controller to boot ATA66,SCSI. I've tried changing it to SCSI,ATA66 but it made no difference. When the drive is connected to the UDMA33 controller everything boots just fine.

Thanks! farphle

The partitions are on the same drive.

Try typing in all 1's. I don't know if it works in 2K, but it does in NT.
-
To create the disks: 1. Insert a blank formatted floppy into A: (you will need 4 total) 2. Insert WIN2K cd 3. Click Start, Run, and type "x:\bootdisk\makeboot.bat a:" 4. Follow the instructions that appear.

Andersony, I didn't say I cared for the 9x kernel. I'm a huge 2K fan myself, not one problem yet.

Best way to install a new harddrive without losing info.

Two words... Norton Ghost. Just clone your current drives to the new partitions and you'll be done in an hour. -
I guess you think that's a valid reason to not use a particular OS? I don't care what they call it as long as it's better than 98.

I have an HP 8250i (4x4x24) and have had no problems.

Just to let people know, Epson posted a bunch of WIN2K drivers today.
