It must be something else though I have been giving my system a kick for awhile. Next thing I guess is to uninstall the whole lot and give it a new fresh installation. I agree re the unworthy upgrade. Adobe has been doing a lot of it as ot late. Norton is another company that released pay upgrades that should have been free.

That is a new one by me it is working on my system though I am using a Voodoo3. I do not know of any issues other than possible DirectX issues that may be causing your problem. You want want to reinstall the DX7 drivers on your system and see if that makes a difference. You wont like what happens even when it will start to work however. When you go to try and start a season it still (even after 2 patches) says "hard drive is full" and goes no further. I have emailed three times and have yet to get ANY sort of reply from them. I suggest going to www.ea.com and sending an email stating your case.

The second patch for NHL 2001 is out (you can get it by running the update program included with the game) and the problem with the hard drive saying its full is still there. This essentially means it may be a very long time, if ever, that the game will work properly. All I hope is it was not the full patch #2 and there is another update. Has anyone else emailed EA about this or know anything?

The problem is I do not have a non W2K machine to create a season on even if I wanted to so I am flat out of luck as far as that goes... So I am a little bitter and still think that anyone who is having a problem with this should ***** loud and hard.

I to am not going to do any fixes of my own to the game and will wait for EA to get off their duff and do something about this. There are clearly other issues with the game aside from the W2K so a new patch is hopefully forthcoming. What I do have a problem with is this and the other problems are not even mentioned on the website. I sent an email to EA Support a week and a half ago. I did not recieve a reply, did not really expect to, but I still recommend anyone with a problem becomes very vocal and emails everyone there that they can. They are only going to understand if they feel it will cost them money.

I to am having the same problem as everyone else with NHL 2001 that it will play just fine in quick game mode but gives the hard drive is full error if you attempt to start a season. I took a chance in buying the game as it does say on the bottom of the box that 2000 is not supported do technically EA does not HAVE to do anything to correct the issue. I personally hope that is wrong because for the whole game it seems to be the ONLY problem that I have come across. Lets keep this thread alive and if anyone finds a way around it please let us know.

I have yet to receive a reply from Lucasarts on Windows 2000 and Force Commander if they have any plans to make the game compatible. I have over a weeks time sent to questions and am still waiting. Anyone else have any new luck on getting this one going?

I am wondering this as well if there is or will be a 7.0a version for Wink2K? Disregarding the detailed filled reply earlier does anyone have any other information on this?

I am very hesitant to install BETA 2 after the first one caused so much havoc on my system. When you go to install the driver does it warn you that it has not been tested by Microsoft?

I sent an email to 3Dfx technical support on this but have not yet gotten an answer. I did try the new V3 3500 beta drivers but they do not function at all so I dont know if they would have made any difference.

I know that they are in beta but usually the beta at least works to some degree. Anyone else out there have a V3 3500 TV and have gotten the beta 3Dfx drivers to work? I would love to be able to use the TV tuner on the card once again.

I to hope that they release a patch very soon. I foolishly tried out the new beta drivers for V3 3500 for Windows 2000 and had to redo my entire system as a result. This is such a letdown as well because I was so looking forward to the game.
