WTF My brand new Maxtor 80 gig 7200rpm is showing only 75gig
Four and Twenty replied to pr-man's topic in Hardware
dirty hairy you must be smoking crack to wanna use fat or you just have really small hard drives i have 244 gigs in my system my largest partition is 149 gigs you can't do that with fat. fat is also extremely ineficient with large hard drives and as was already mentioned video editing. You don't need dos / fat to recover a system. Use the recovery console it is like dos but it is designed for nt/2k/xp. I also have a pakage from wininternals that can do recovery of broken systems. leave fat in the past along with isa and parallel ports and the like. NTFS = NT File System if you use NT why not use the filesystem specifically designed for it. -
i tryed the beta and it did weird things with redtecting my hardware i don't feel like trying the final now if it still has problems
-
alright let me know when you get it back cause I need it soon.

I wasn't only talking about gaming as that is only one of the many tasks my computer is used for. I need stability and speed for video and graphic editing to put food on the table. So naturally high quaility parts that run in spec and last a long time are a must for me.

Quote: If you overclock right you have no incompatibility 'issues' Authough i do see people that think that there athlon 1 @ 1.7 is stable just cos it manages 1 run of 3dmark *cough* madonion.com *cough* Shame really I think you misunderstood me I was not implying that overclocking causes compatibiliy issues I was implying that buying 2nd rate hardware like via causes compatibilty issues. I have seen plenty of people with their oc'ed athlon systems who claimed that they rocked and would stomp my p3 dually. The fact of the matter is they don't. People are so concerned with processor speed and graphics cards that they have forgotten how much performance you can acheive with a well balanced system.

heh overclocking is the last thing i need in my computer i wait to buy the fastest highest quality **** i can instead of buying cheep **** and running it out of spec or running into compatibility issues
-
yea it is funny how i just got $1000 dollars worth of computer equipment and all i want is more human nature i guess
-
i would go p4 i set up a p4 laptop for a client and that thing is so damn fast it was almost as fast as my dual p3 workstation the model i worked on was 2Ghz though
-
now i need to do some serious modding to this case i want some cool fan grills and a window mod

What is better Win2K or WinXP?
Four and Twenty replied to CyberGenX's topic in Customization & Tweaking
XP Although I will be going to .NET when it becomes final -
Here are the up to date system specs
-
you need to to setup up port forwarding on the nat router have port 80 or whatever forward to you computers private ip you can use dns2go because it will direct your users to the nat routers public ip so as long as you forward the ports you need to the private ip of the computer you want to use you should be all set
-
Well I like .NET better than XP but I run XP cause it is final and .NET is beta
-
Got my new case and firewire card/breakout box still waiting on the 80 gig drives and the black floppy here are some pics
-
intel my dual 850 on i840 is the best just installed my DVRaptor firewire card and it is just screaming
-
actually my preference will be .NET Server when it is final (beta is a pain in the arse with the activation bull crap.)
