stays at 4-6% on my computer. Is java optimised for a smp system?
-
hmm...qttask.exe sounds like quick time perhaps
-
i have heard it tops out at 2.4 ghz
-
holy crap that is a good overclock

when my machine gets too slow i am getting dual p4 xeon
-
on my computer you don't even really have to tweak it like that at all aside from the hardware acceleration. I notice no difference in desktop or game performance on .NET It probably makes more of a difference on a sigle processor machine to disable the extra services. Once you go dual you never go back.

o yea if you don't want to meet the chicks i have all sorts of p0rn you can download. like 10 gigs worth.

Quote: A virtual date would be nice, since I wouldn't have to buy her anything. Just have it on a disc and hand it to "her". Plus, I have no woman. Almost 2 years since my last date... *sigh* you ever try meeting chicks online? I have met lots of chicks online, its easy. and by the time you meet them for real all the talking is done and you can get to the good stuff. Drop me a line if you want some tips on meeting chicks in your area.

well here is my 2 cents aviod amd/via like the plague if you want a workstation get a dual p3 with the 840 or 815 or a server works chipset. if you want a p4 get an 845d or 850 i rebuilt my computer in november and i opted for dual p3 over single p4. (both were about the same price) I have to say i am extremely happy with my decision. I do alot of photoshop and multitasking so a dual proc sys is much beter suited to me. I also play games from time to time. Games would run faster on a single p4 but they run plenty fast on my dual so i am happy. as for motherboards here are the vendors i would recomend. tyan supermicro asus stay far far away from abit cause they suck.

games work on .NET for me. .NET is like XP server all the XP features and all the server features. Best OS i have ever used
-
just got this set up and man is it kick A55. I was hitting the limits of windows xp iis and ics all day every day and now my network and iis work perfectly.
-
that is why .NET is great u can enable the themes and what not but all the xp style frills are disabled by default and there is no limit on file sharing/IIS. Terminal services is way better than remote desktop. To me these days a workstation is a server cause it is nice to have one all powerfull place that you can do everything from.

that was a kick *** trick but here at nt compatible no one uses war3z i am certian of it i would never ever use war3z cause then i would be a criminal and criminals are bad people i don't wanna be a bad person and no one else does either:D

Quote: "Yeah but they do the same every time, initially release a bunch of cards and then make better faster ones (at default). I would probably buy 1 if i could be sure that they wouldnt go and do this." On the day NVidia don't do this to their customers there will be a few other things I'll be doing on the same day. First I shall be popping down to my local computer vendor to collect my free copy of Windows & Office. Then I shall purchase my new Intel P4 CPU for it's retail price of £50. Then, on-line to purchase Adobe Photoshop for £30....... NVidia always do this to their customers I'm afraid, any card you buy from them, even the very best, will only be the top of the range for a maximum of 6months, usually less. isn't this the same with everthing tho i like to see it move ahead at a fast pace even if it makes me go broke

just rename them i have seen this before with things like my usb camera.

Quote: Nahh, they usually complain about CounterStrike... LOL I am not a big gammer anymore. However .NET seems to play games just as smooth as xp. I don't need a bazzilion fps as long as i can jump into a game with all my other work related things open. The other day a friend of mine was gettin all huffy at me cause i left photoshop, interdev, access, various im programs, outlook, etc. opened when i loaded up nfs 5. He was all like dude you should close all that stuff before you load up the game cause it will play better. So i played a race anyway and it was silky smooth. then i closed the game and all my appz and a hand full of services and loaded up the game again and played the same race. Then i asked him if he could tell the difference and the obvious answer was no. If you have enough mhz and ram to go around what the hell does 5 or 10 fps mean? NOTHING!
