I have a gf2mx400 agp and a matrox g200 pci. i used to use them for dual monitors under xp and 2k on my 440bx then one of my monitors broke and i upgraded to the daul p3 i840 board i can't seem to get widows xp to show both video cards in the display properties anymore. Both show up in the device man but only the matrox shows up in the disp props. i have tried may different combonations of bios settings. There is on pci display first setting like there was on my bx. I have tried the pci card in every different pci slot including the 64 bit pci slots. i don't know what to do to get this working. I was thinking of getting another gf2mx but a pci version and then hoping that the nvidia drivers would recognize both in the disp props. any ideas. I really don't want to gamble on buying a new card and should have what i need to get it working right now.

Possible Solution for Infinite Loop,Nvidia,BSOD's

LOL VIA when is this crap gonna end -
needing registered ram is not the problem that i was refering too if you are going high end dual you should have registered ecc ram anyway. the ram issue i was speaking of was the fact that the mp chipset is only supported with 3 out of 4 banks filled. WTF you get a 4th slot that might work! WTF if intel did that the AMD/VIA people would never shut up. But AMD did it and it is ok cause it is their first attempt at dual. Fuk that. If the AMD chipsets aren't ready for prime time they shouldn't be out there. Intel doesn' use their customers for beta testing where does AMD get off. and this bullshit with nameing **** 1600+ what a goddam joke

plus intel has used very similar chips for the southbridges on all of the 800 series. They have found something that works and improved on it with each new chipset that they make. Via is still struggling to make something that works in the first place. AMD is a little better than VIA but they have their own problems like the NMI errors, not being able to use all the ram slots, no usb on the mpx etc.

i don't think there is an answer to your questtion i have been trying to eliminate pf usage on my computer since i found out what it was.

yea dude i got your email but when i fired one off to you it was returned undeliverable. so why don't you send one from your email client to jeffparker@nonags.com or update your email on NTC. -
i like via also it is good to have someone for intel to compete with. via sucks my balls and i will never ever buy anything from them again. However they keep intels prices down by supporting the athlon and make intel chipsets more feature rich. Like intel didn't support ddr ram for the p4 and now they do and that is good.

Quote: I would check the Voltage multiplier settings on your board to be sure they are default for your setup. Also, are you running a USB KB or a PS2 one? Some motherboards by default will not recognize a USB KB on boot, and that may cause your issue there. If it's a PS2, then perhaps trying a different KB. Asus is a rock solid mb manufacturer in my experience (I have several Asus boards here in the house), and I have no doubts they are correct in that the board is working properly. don't think you can even use usb keyboards on the mpx boards due to the lack of integrated usb. He is most certianly using a ps2

abit is one of the best for overclocking i just had a bunch of bad experiences with them Tyan on the other hand is a dream and if you don't care about overclocking then they are just about the best you can get. Supermicro and Intel boards are good also.

i agree abit sucks tyan is my pick

Is Windows Less Secure than Linux, Not Here...
Four and Twenty replied to clutch's topic in Slack Space
I have never had any security issues and i have been running iis on broadband for years. It's all about administration. -
yea that is a good point Intel may not be the fastest but it is so damn fast that it is more than fast enough for me even with my dated dual p3 system

yep gotta hand it too ya that was well put my computer is not perfect and it certianly is not the fastest thing out there but it does what i need it to do well. One of the things it must do perfectly is stay on and be reliable and responsive. The way i load down my computer i need a dually and intel is the only viable option for me. I know that you can get amd daullies now but they are still not a viable option for my cause thy are unproven and i have read about alot of problems that people are having with them over at the 2cpu.com forums. I'll stick with Intel and Nvidia/Matrox not cause i am brainwashed, just because i am experienced. one last thing VIA SUCKS! HAVE ALLWAYS SUCKED, AND WILL CONTINUTUE TO SUCK ATI doesn't suck as much but they do suck a lot

it is all comparing apples to oranges anyway. the intel lovers here like me and clutch and M4 here seem to be more interested in haveing a high end workstation where as the via lovers are in it more for gereral entertainment. Also i know that both clutch and i run some pretty nice intel servers. so yea like i said it is kinda comparing apples to oranges as most of the via users out there are mostly playing games. The only games on my box right now are the ones that come with windows cause i have been to busy to play recently with all the webdesign that i have been doing.
