Four and Twenty

i am getting a problem similar to this with my machine logs on super quick. like 3 secons from the black win xp screen.but i takes like like a good 20 seconds to load the network stuff. I doesn't pause to the point where i can't do anything but perhaps that is cause i have dual proccessors.

thanks for the advice but i have called everyone in the phone book for my area. I was hoping that you some of you might know a website that i could buy these at that had a clear description of the part you are buying.

anyone know of a good place to buy this some where in the us? i have been looking at sites that i linked to off of pricewatch and so far i have not found a site with parts that i am 100% sure will work

i would do this benchmark for you execpt taht i have a dual processor machine and pro is kind the only way to go for a dualie rig. I am sure that my framerates would be lower on home due to the fact that it would only use one of my processors

ok here is the story i have a tyan 2400 mother board with onboard scsi the manual can be located here ftp://ftp.tyan.com/manuals/thunder/m_s2257_110.pdf i just purchased a 10000 rpm seagate scsi drive model # ST118202LC the manual can be found here http://seagate.com/support/disc/manuals/scsi/29260b.pdf and the instll guide here http://seagate.com/support/disc/iguides/scsi/29250a.pdf ok here is the problem this drive has an 80 pin scsi connector and my motherboard has 2 68 pin connnectors and a 50 pin connnector. So i guess i need to buy a 68 to 80 pin scsi cable. but whats more the scsi drive itself has no standard 4 pin power connector just the scsi connector and a cople rows of jumpers. does this drive get its power throgh the scsi cable? what the hell? also the manual shows a 4 pin power connector on the drive that simply isn't there. i am kinda confused to say the least and help thoughts or ideas would be great

yeah i found an adapter for the drive for $7 now the only other thing i need to know about is termination. i am going to buy a 80 to 68 pin adaptor and a 3 connector 68 pin scsi cable. do i need to buy a terminator to put on the empty connector on the cable?

make the control panel veiwable in my computer and then just right click/create shortcut

how did you make it so that the start button text and icon didn't show in your all silver theme?

well i have sybios scsi on my motherboard and nethier symbois or microsoft list it as being xp compatible. when i enabled the card in the bios the drivers which were in fact included in xp installed fine.

the new detonators are optimized for the geforce / 2 / 3 not the tnt series why don't you uset the 6.18 or whatever driver in winxp and see how it scores

I installed this a few days ago and XP runs fine.

Win XP SP1 Hotfixes i got a collection of hot fixes that will be in sp1 someday installing them now post more later gotta go to work

got this today and found it kinda dull except that the screen savers are cool i think the xp power toyz are a much better upgrade for xp all in all the plus pack is kinda cool but i wouldn't suggest paying for it, i didn't

I would have to disagree that dual is a wast of money i use alot of adobe programs as well as do alot of multitasking and the my computer can finally keep up with me and just because a program may not be written to use both processors doesn't mean you can't take advantage of both. Using SMP see saw pro i can set the processor affinity for any/all processes running on the system meaning i can devots one processor to one or more applications and run all the other processes on the other processor. I love the dual setup and i have only begun to play

well i just upgraded to a Dual PIII 850 on a Tyan Thunder 2400 and sold my old motherboard processor and ram o yeah i also sold the one of my ide raid cards and my 2 system drives. so now i am in the market for a new graphics card as my friend is borrowing my tnt2 and i don't think i am gonna get it back any time soon. I am looking at getting a geforce 2 mx400 also since i sold my raid array and i am running this system off one crappy 5400 rpm hard drive that i borrowed from a friend, i need some new fast storage for the system drive. I am looking at getting a 10000 rpm 9 or 18 gig scsi 2 hard drive

i use the 1.03b drivers and bios for my raid setup on highpoint 370 they are the only drivers/bios that works right

you gave up ur dually for Athlon XP?

well software raid just sucks IDE raid is the sh1t cuase it is cheap as dirt and fast as hell SCSI riad is as b frank mentioned probly out of the question do to price i have been using IDE raid for a while now an i love it. it is super fast.

does this work with xp?
