yea the sblives are definatly athing to stay away from with a via board. many of those computers that i built had sblives in them. i would also stay away from 3com products on those boards cause we had some probs with them also i am not saying in any way that you cannot make a good solid stable pc based on a via board but i prefer better hardware compatibility and less headaces so i will stick with proven intel chipsets for now. perhaps an nforce down the line i am still running a 440bx here, not the fastest thing around but it does the job until i build my dualie rig that i have been dreaming of.

yes i got this iso from the same great sorce as the stickman and altough i myself haven't run it yet all the peps that downloaded it from my site and my mirrors are happy with it. so i'd say it realy depends on the sorce.

i agree i have built many systems with motherboards based on via chipsets from abit, asus, and msi and every single computer had some sort of hardware and or software compatibility issue. VIA = headache

the icons get displayed in 16 color in the tray in all windows except xp there is a fix for it somewhere out there it was posted on this board a while back. it requires that u replace explorer with a modified one then it works great.

dude i just thought about this a little bit and i am fukin psyched about the nforce. THe bigest problem with the athlons is the sh1tty via chipsets and now we get some sh1t from nvidia that runs em. I know nvidia will do better than via. Intel better jump on this sh!t or they are going to loose alot of biz how much iz one of these mobos gonna cost?

dude that is fuct i have 2 network cards 2 raid cards and 2 video cards and sound card and the mp3s never skip a beat and they are sharing irqs all over the place. I would say get a different netowork card cause u probly wanna keep that soundblaster in there. But the problem may be related to the soundblaster live cause i have heard of all kinds of whack issues with those especially in win2k

also don't buy it cause it is a rip off the game is mad short there are no new enemies the only cool thing about it is the upgraded graphics
