also your scanner is not on this list so you have to buy it or find it somewhere http://www.umax.com/support/knowledge/index.jsp?docs=SC00207

looked a little deeper and this is kinda beat look at this http://www.umax.com/support/knowledge/index.jsp?docs=SC00198 http://www.wudata.com/jeff/buy_this_shit.gif i will look around the web to see if there is a free one up for dl somewhere but it looks like they want your money. they did say something about using xp drivers tho.

yea just disable ht at the bios level and you will be all set. the deal is that if you os is nt or 2k then it doesn't know that ht is only good if you do two different operation types at once. like 2 floating point opps are bad cause it is both trying to use same resources. But xp and win2k3 know about this and use hyper treading well.

if you can see your scanner in my computer then if you double click that you should get the scanner and camera wizard which will allow you to scan pretty much whatever

Stupid Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Four and Twenty replied to Dharmesh's topic in Customization & Tweaking
you need hotfix -KB823980 -
i had a problem like this one time my friends computer. Turns out he put one to many mounting posts in the case and the extra one grounded out the motherboard and fried it.

i have a hard drive that i need to image to a slightly larger hard drive. the image on the new hard drive must be able to boot as teh old one did. the hard drive i need to pulll the image from is formated fat32 with win98 installed. the only other thing is that the imaging program must work in win2k3. (many imaging programs will not install on win2k3) i made an image of the drive using winimage but i cant get it to copy to the new drive. i tried using ghost enterprise edition but that doesn't give me the options that i want. Ghost just seems to want to do big batches of network images not just a simple copy from one drive to another.

Windows 2003 Enterprise OR Windows 2003 Standard

hell yea it supports mor than 5 client licenses that would be pretty damn stupid if it didn't -
i slapped an extra scsi drive in my system and installed 2k on it then ran drive image. I was able to do the copy from within windows. had to use my onboard ide controllers the deal was the board on the western digital hard drive seemed to be dying. i wouldn't get recognised by the dudes computer so it wouldn't boot up. Some of my computers would recognise the drive. So basically the dude got lucky. I fubared my system in the process. But that is ok cause i have lots of backups
-
it is actually drive image 6 that i have and that doesn't work in server but driveimage doesn't seem to work for me because i am not using onboard controllers. man what a pain in the ass this is turning out to be.
-
i am installing win2k right now so i can use drive image i really wish this dude that i am fixing the computer for would just let me upgrade him. He is all like "i want it to be exactly like it was b4" so hopefully the driveimage program will hook it up the heart of the problem is that the hard drive is not recognised during the post so it doesn't boot. but the hard drive works in my computer with my abit add on hard drive controller. so i just want to image over to the new drive. Seems simple enought but i have been messing with it for the past few days off and on and i haven't gotten it working yet so i am a bit frustrated.

drive image 7 does't work in win2k3

Is it worth converting W2003 Server for Workstation use?
Four and Twenty replied to pmistry's topic in Slack Space
i use mine as a workstation and a server to test my web apps. you only have to turn on graphics and sound to make it like a workstation. you have to tweak xp a lot to get it to run how i like it. -
are you worried about your speakers or your amp? i use speakers that are fused or have some other sort of overrun protection built in. Like one pair that i have makes sparks when you put too much power in. I am not really worried about my amps. so i guess i don't really have an answer for your question but what part are you worried about damaging? I have played my speakers alot real loud off the pc and they haven't gotten messed up yet. I think a device that you are talking about is kinda like smart sound on a tv. but i think that puttin this device inline would mess up the sound quality.

This type of file could harm your computer dialog
Four and Twenty replied to miku's topic in Networking

i am trying to set up a domain with win2k3 i am on a cable modem so i have a dynamic ip when the domain setup asks for a name to resolve to i don't know what to put because i don't have a domain name for this computer. i tryed to just enter a name like you used to be able to do in win2k but then i can't connect any other domain controllers to it. what should i do just make up a name like whatever.com and say that that is it?
-
so basically i just make up a domain name that i like and use that

i have a rediculous stereo system that i need to hook up to my computer my amp has digital in so hopefully i can get my sound card talking to it. I have 1900 watts all together. this thing is loud. i would love to hear my games in 5.1 but mostly i just want to listen to my music without burning it on cd first.

I got an old Asus P2B-DS dual p3 board that i just put in a new case with a bunch of old parts. The only problem is that when I installed win2k3 server it is not installed in acpi mode. I am reinstalling now with the pnp os setting set to no. I think this is how i got it going on my other old 440bx mobo. I was wondering if anyone knows the exact bios settings to get the os to install with acpi enabled
