I did not intend to offend you bro and i am sorry that you have 64 megs of ram. (very sorry!) You suggest that win2k on a low end system does not work that well for games (this is true) I was merely sugesting that winme just doesn't work that well in general (this is also true) so back to the issue at hand have you tried any other nethood.htt files? If you would like my copy i could email it to u as i to have winme for playing my games (all though i have not booted it in over a month) ------------------ My System Dell Demension XPS T500 Dual Boot Windows 2000 Pro 2195 Windows Millennium Final PIII @ 500 Mhz (with after market heatsink and dual fan) 256 Megs Ram TNT2 Ultra Graphics Card Matrox Millennium PCI (for second monitor) 3Com 10/100 Ethernet Card 3Com 56k Modem 12.6 Gig Maxtor HD 19 Gig Maxtor HD 40X CD Rom Drive 100 Mb Zip Drive MS Explorer Mouse MS Natural Keyboard Pro

I had the same problem with whistler 2250. It may have not been the same script error but it was nethood.htt that was the problem. I was able to fix it by copying the nethood file from win2k. I was kind strange cause all the other folder views were different but that is ok cause it worked. So i would recomend that you get a copy and overwrite it cause it really cant make it worse. You could also try a real operating system ie win2k.

Windows NT 4 Workstation & Windows 2000 Pro dual boot
Four and Twenty replied to Pikey's topic in Software
Well when i had it set up 98 nt4s and 2kpro it was cause i wanted to learn nt and get mcse certified. THen i realized that i didnt really want to be an mcse and even if i did i would only need to know win2k anyway. Also with regards to the file sys issue you can start your drives as fat16 and then everybody is happy once you get it going than you can run the service pack and upgrade to ntfs. -
Windows NT 4 Workstation & Windows 2000 Pro dual boot
Four and Twenty replied to Pikey's topic in Software
May i ask what the point is in dual booting winnt and 2k? What do you get out of it? Seems kinda like dual booting win 95 and 98 or something. I guess what i am wondering is what does nt4 have that win2k doesn't that you need to go through all this troble for? I used to have a triple boot setup with win98 nt4 server and 2kpro and it worked fine so it can be done but why? And that inviable longterm solution crap that ms told you is bull**** if you can get it going i don't see why i wouldn't last. -
What is the best way to dual boot win NT4 ws and WinME
Four and Twenty replied to Ben.Lun's topic in Software
win9x does not have to be on the primary partition and in my experience with win me you dont even have to install it first as my copy does not overwrite the winnt bootloader. ------------------ My System Dell Demension XPS T500 Dual Boot Windows 2000 Pro 2195 Windows Millennium Final PIII @ 500 Mhz (with after market heatsink and dual fan) 256 Megs Ram TNT2 Ultra Graphics Card Matrox Millennium PCI (for second monitor) 3Com 10/100 Ethernet Card 3Com 56k Modem 12.6 Gig Maxtor HD 19 Gig Maxtor HD 40X CD Rom Drive 100 Mb Zip Drive MS Explorer Mouse MS Natural Keyboard Pro -
I read this post and then i tried to think of a peice of software that i actualy own and all that i could come up with was win98 cause it came with my dell and audiocatalyst cause it was $20 and i did not want to bother findinga war3z version. The thing is i plan to buy software when and if i can afford it, but i am a stoner and i would much rather buy kind buds than software and i think that the stuff that i steal is to good for me not to enjoy it. and to beeker50 not all ***** involes the type of downloading that you describe. It sounds to me like you have never encountered a good ftp sever. When i was in college i used to smoke pot and trade ftp links all day. When you have access to tons of ftp severs you can dl trouble free war3z and actually find stuff that you want. Anyway i think i have rambled enough. My point is that for me war3z is my only option (unless i want to use win98 and a bunch of shareware)

I remeber reading about a reg hack for win2k pro that enables ip forwarding. I want to connect two networks together with a win2k pro machine. I did a search on this site and did not turn up anything any ideas?

Whats better for games-NTFS or FAT 32?
Four and Twenty replied to Marlboro's topic in Customization & Tweaking
I don't think that it really makes much diff for games unless the NTFS volumes are compressed in which case it might be a little slower. The cds that you burn at home should work at work regaurdless of the different formats of the hard disks. -
I use FAT, FAT32, and NTFS. In my main system it is fat32 on c: for winme with all other partitions (D: - H: ) are NTFS. I use NTFS for win 98 in win me to allow me to view the drives as if they were native fat volumes. On my othersystem that i just built out of scrap parts is fat16 and running DOS 6.22 and WINME. I will most likely use a triple boot dos winme and win2k setup on that when i get more ram for it the new drives that i add to that system will be formated NTFS and i will probably setup NTFS for win98 on that computer aswell. I think that NTFS is better for large volumes security. FAT is good for compatibility and sh1t. When whistler is final i will be finally able to drop 9.x and DOS all together and then i will certianly use NTFS only. I would highly recomend building a second system out of old parts as it is a fun way to make a decent system with little or no cash. ------------------ My System Dell Demension XPS T500 Dual Boot Windows 2000 Pro 2195 Windows Millennium Final PIII @ 500 Mhz (with after market heatsink and dual fan) 256 Megs Ram TNT2 Ultra Graphics Card Matrox Millennium PCI (for second monitor) 3Com 10/100 Ethernet Card 3Com 56k Modem 12.6 Gig Maxtor HD 19 Gig Maxtor HD 40X CD Rom Drive 100 Mb Zip Drive MS Explorer Mouse MS Natural Keyboard Pro [This message has been edited by Four and Twenty (edited 23 November 2000).]

Specs: ABit KT7 Raid Creative Cd RW and a 50x cd rom matrox g400 dh ibm ata 100 45 gb hd I have had this system running with sound network, dv and a modem. The DV card was having problems with irq sharing so i turned off acpi and pnp os and reinstalled all win2k divers. That did not work so great and i ended up getting a scrambled screen in win2k when it booted in normal mode with the included matrox drivers installed. (the same ones that had been working perfectly before) so i booted in safe mode and uninstalled the drivers and the card worked in normal mode again. So then i decided to switch the system back to acpi. Ok back to acpi same problem when matrox drivers installed = blue scrambled screen after the second win2k boot screen (the first color one with the blue progress meter.) So that sucks and what’s more? now If i power up the computer it will work great i can boot up and the card works (still not with win2k drivers) I can go into bios setup or boot something however as soon as the computer restarts there is no post no beeps and no display output until you shut it of unplug it and drain all the power by holding the button and then plugging it back in and turning it on. I am not worried about the windows problem because I am going to reinstall anyways and that will probably fix itself. But I am not sure what the deal is with it not working after restarting that is weird. Also if I put my ati card in the agp it works great. i think it is an expert 98 rage 2x or something. But it can restart and show the display and post just fine. Also I have set the agp aptature to 256 i have tinkered with the agp 4x and that does not help I have tried loading the failsafe and the optimized defaults to no avail. I am thinking that this must be a bios setting as it worked before. I have tried the latest abit bios update and that did not work so I am back to the old bios. I have tinkered with the bios setting to get it to work but nothing i have done has changed the current situation. Also the matrox card is currently working in my dell and it can reboot and post and show the display! All that I can think is WTF? Any suggestions?

KT7 RAID and g400 dh worked before, now it doesn't?

KT7 RAID and g400 dh worked before, now it doesn't?
Four and Twenty replied to Four and Twenty's topic in Hardware
Well now the computer will not post after reboot with the ati card so i am guessing that it is a mother board issue not a problem with the graphics card. [This message has been edited by Four and Twenty (edited 30 October 2000).] -
Windows 2000 Debug Program
Four and Twenty replied to Elian_Gonzalez's topic in Customization & Tweaking
Hey man thanks for the tip. I hate that ****ing debugger program. It used to make me restart my computer when explorer crashed because the debugger would jam and i could not get it to close so it would run and the other programs would run but i could not get it to close. Now when explorer crashs it comes back in a flash thanks man. ------------------ My System Dell Demension XPS T500 Dual Boot Windows 2000 Pro 2195 Windows Millennium Final PIII @ 500 Mhz (with after market heatsink and dual fan) 256 Megs Ram TNT2 Ultra Graphics Card Matrox Millennium PCI (for second monitor) 3Com 10/100 Ethernet Card 3Com 56k Modem 12.6 Gig IBM HD 40X CD Rom Drive 100 Mb Zip Drive MS Explorer Mouse MS Natural Keyboard Pro -

Any known issues with dualbooting winME and win2k?
Four and Twenty replied to skeeteroplagus's topic in Legacy OS
I have a dual boot with winme on c: and 2k on d: and i once had whistler on e: c: = fat32 d: = ntfs e: = ntfs I use ntfs for win 98 in win me to access the data on the d: and e: drives I have had no problems that i can attribute to my multi boot setup My guess is that you have some type of virus or software that is corupting your win2k files ------------------ My System Dell Demension XPS T500 Dual Boot Windows 2000 Pro 2195 Windows Millennium Final PIII @ 500 Mhz (with after market heatsink and dual fan) 256 Megs Ram TNT2 Ultra Graphics Card Matrox Millennium PCI (for second monitor) 3Com 10/100 Ethernet Card 3Com 56k Modem 12.6 Gig IBM HD 40X CD Rom Drive 100 Mb Zip Drive MS Explorer Mouse MS Natural Keyboard Pro -
