Four and Twenty replied to pr-man's topic in Software
Quote: ok Im trying NAV corp 8, still does not detect virus test emails I send myself but Panda does. I dont like panda though because its a hog and crashes my games when realtime protection is on. NAV corp does not do that. ok any suggestions? Is NAV personal still a big memory hog? help me out here what email program are you using? Symantec Corp. 8 works great for outlook 2k and outlook xp, it also does some others. -

i have two servers that are both running win2k3 enterprise edition i would like to cluster them together so that i have a failover. i don't really use them for storage i use them for spliting up the cable modem to the network. I want to figure a way that if one crashes or dies i don't have to unplug anything a switch it around cause the net has to stay up all the time. Especially when i am not here. anythougts?
-
i am not trying to serve out to the net i am trying to serve the net to the office i know how to set up a cluster but what i don't know is how to plug my cable modem into both machines. I don't want a nat router in front of the machines casue that is what the machines do.

i am 21 now i grew up in the 80's and 90's and i did much much more outsde stuff. I only did video games and tv at night. during the day you couldn't keep me inside. It was nice to grow up in Vermont and run in the woods. I have to be thankful for the computers because i am pretty much unedcatable but computers have allways just been natural. If i didn't have them i would be pumping gas for a living or something

ok so i just get WMP9 on my .NET server runs great i was checking out some full albums they got that you can listen to and they sound perfect like CD quality So i am all like damn i want one of these albumz now there was a recent thread here on stream ripping an one dude was like just plug a mini to min on the out and in. Which will obviosly work but to hell with going analog so i went into the volume properties and hit record what i hear or something like that then went to cool edit hit record then went back to WMP9 and hit play and booya got the digital stream ripping to wav as we speak. All i can say is that was to god damn easy. Didn't MS think of this? why can i do this? Something is wrong here i am gettin brand new high quality full albums for free.

X3D: Have you seen this advertised on T.V.? Thoughts??
Four and Twenty replied to Bursar's topic in Hardware
well the one i used was from asus and it was desinged to work with the card. It had another wire to controll the shutter and that plugged right into the card. You had to use the special asus drivers for that perticular card. Refrence drivers from nvidia wouldn't work. i don't know the specifics on the one you are talking about. -

here is the deal those things are damn cool i built a gamming machine for this kid one time and included those the way they work is rediculously simple the glasses are shutter glasses to make the stereo scopic image the just put the left eye image on the screen when the left eye shutter is open and the right eye shutter is closed then vice versa. They do this really fast so that it fools your eye. the effect is absolutly amasing. Like in quake 3 the stuff looks like it is poping out of the screen as well as going really deep into the screen. It is one of the most increadable things i have ever seen in 3d gamming. -
how do you disable/re-enable ctrl-alt-del?

i guess the thing is i never fuct with stream ripping b4 i downloaded wmp 9 today and i saw the new GZA full album as one of the first things on the media page. I clicked on the fast stream and i was like damn this sh1t sounds better than some of my mp3s. Being a huge fan of the wutang and all their members solo works i was like damn i gotta have this. So i just went thru the logical steps and bam i was stream ripping in like less than a minute. The fact that i have cool edit pro is a plus but i am sure this can be done with a regular old audio recorder. In terms of breaking the wave down to mp3 it was a simple matter of using cool edit and selecting each track (wich was easy to see due to the blank spots) i got all the info from cddb.com and named up the mp3s. so yea i was a bit surpised at the relitive ease

Quote: what are your thoughts & feelings thusfar on .NET/Windows Server 2003? win 2k3 iz the best ever i allways run the server version cause i develop all sorts of stuff and the 10 connection limit of pro really kills me espcially if the clients don't allways drop the connection. I just love using .NET cause it has all the winxp goodies but has everything shut off/locked down by default. You just turn on what you need and you are jammin. -Jeff

Microsoft software thief dies unexpectedly aged 32
Four and Twenty replied to adamvjackson's topic in Slack Space
Microsoft software thief dies unexpectedly aged 32 Cause of death unknown... A former Microsoft employee who was fired - and subsequently arrested - for stealing more than $9m worth of software from the company has died unexpectedly, aged just 32. Daniel Feussner had been released on bail pending his trial for theft but was taken ill late last week. He died as a result of multiple organ failure although the cause of the illness has not yet been ascertained. A full investigation into Feussner's sudden death is currently being carried out. It is alleged that Feussner stole from his former employer to fund a lavish lifestyle which saw him spend vast amounts of money on sports cars including a Ferrari and a Jaguar, as well as buying diamond rings, a Rolex watch and even a 51-foot yacht. Feussner was sacked by Microsoft, following an investigation by the FBI, for selling software intended for internal use on the black market. The applications he was charged with selling illegally included SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, Visual Studio and Windows 2000. Despite such alleged misdeeds Feussner was not coy about displaying the trappings of his lavish lifestyle - even setting up a personal website to show off his expensive possessions. It is thought his lavish lifestyle was one of the first things to betray the fact that Feussner may have had other, less legitimate, sources of income above and beyond his Microsoft salary.
