Screen Adjustments for Nvidia based cards
Four and Twenty replied to Tomay's topic in Customization & Tweaking
Quote: (Again, I found I can pull off 75hz @ 32-bit Color w/ 1600x1200 screens here using a GeForce 4 Ti4600, on a 21" ViewSonic Graphics Pro monitor... What the hell you should be able to get much better than that i have 2 21 inch monitors attaced to my gf4 mx460 which is a total peice of crap card and i can get 85 hz out of the gateway monitor and 100hz out of my veiwsonic monitor both at 1600x1200 32bit. there is no reason why you should have to look at that high res at 75 hz that must flicker like crazy. Anything less than 85 hz i can't even look at even at lower resolutions. I image that the gf4 ti with its hefty price tag should be able to do the same as its stripped down cousin if not better. Are you useing one of those DVI converters. THat could be what you are maxing out not the monitor itself. -
GOOD NEWS for Win2k users on networking from front page!
Four and Twenty replied to packman's topic in Software
i use nat on my server to split up the cable to all the comps on the network. When i use 2k it is noticable than it is now with .NET server. As .NET is still in RC phase it gets all hotfixes by default. I am sure that you guys with win2k nat routers will want to install this. -
Terminal Service session won't Do Norton System Scan?
Four and Twenty replied to screamware's topic in Software
i agree with toby my main server for nat and antivirus is accessible by monitor mouse and kb but i never use it that way. The sheild doesn't show up with TS but i just load the porgram off the start menu. and toby where do you get a test virus from i like that idea allways good to test and make sure it is all working properly. -

Best way to copy a website?
Four and Twenty replied to CyberGenX's topic in Everything New Technology
if it is online and you have ftp access you can just download the whole thing to a folder on your computer. If it is just HTML and/or client side script (like java) then you can just run it out of that folder. If it uses serverside script (ASP, PHP, C#, etc) and/or a database (SQL etc.) then you will have to set up IIS or apache to run the site once you have that done you can make that folder where you put the site a virtual dir on the machine or just dump it in the wwwroot folder somewhere. Once you have all that done you should be able to veiw it by going to http://localhost/. If it is server side script or a compiled app or database or some combonation of these things then there could be all kinds of little things to configure. I realize that the above instructions were kind of vague but i really don't know crap about what you are trying to do other than put site X on your computer. Good luck. Feel free to email me as i don't get to this board much anymore. I am usualy busy doing sites for my biz. -

Nvidia 41.03 exist and fix bugs from whql version
Four and Twenty replied to Aragorn's topic in Hardware
i have a problem with VS.net with the 40.72 whql drivers however it is very small sometimes when i maximise the IDE it puts a weird window outline in the middle of the secondary monitor. it only happens a little and doesn't stick there so it is not a big deal at all. I will see if the new drivers fix that. -
do you say that because of whatever you were saying about win98se? what the hell relevance does that have

Quote: Which is better, 256mb of PC133 DRAM or 384mb of PC100 DRAM? Thoughts anyone? I do alot of digital video editing and photoshop work. A little gaming too. Athlon 1.2ghz, VIA kt133, Geforce 2 64mb AGP. the 256 would be higher bandwidth obviously which would be good for games wich don't allways need a real lot of ram but the 384 would help with ps and vid editing. You genneraly want a gig of ram for ps or vid editing in my opinion

Quote: Honestly though, not many people legitimately have access to .NET yet... unless they're either beta testing it or have signed up for the CPP. yea i know just a random thought he isn't lookin for a dl resume anyway he just wants the download to go faster. I feel realy spoiled when i think about how i get pissed off when i am getting less than 100k

funny that you bring that up because i use DFS on my .NET servers to do the exact same thing. Ihave my wwwroot for all the website that i have built on 2 computers using DFS. Updates to file happen almost instantaneously. What DFS does is like binds the 2 or more folders together into what they call a domain root. Then you can work on that share and it will auto replicate to the others. It is pretty cool to cause the share is like virtual like \\nameofdomain\nameofdomainroot so it is really easy to get to. then you can just point all your IIS home dirs to that share also. It allways worked great for me in .NET i am not sure how it works in 2k but i imagine it is just the same -
yea well neither perfect disk of diskeeper are the fastest O&O Defrag is the best
