After installation, attempting to run the software results in an error complaing that DirectX 6.1 is required (even though I have DirectX 8.1 installed!!!). Any ideas? Cheers. Quote: I am running 29.42's here... When the 40's become WHQL-Certified, I'll give them a go, but there seems to be too many issues currently. depends on chipset gfx card and dx version really the 40 series run great with dx9

symantec/norton use metods outside ms apis for things like disk defrag since they know that ms frequently changes things that can cause things to get screwed up with thes methods they programed in a thing that tells you to make sure it is up to date so you don't unknowingly FuX up your system

Need help with IIS 5.0 bandwidth throttling.
Four and Twenty replied to Budious's topic in Networking
Quote: Using a copy of Windows 2000 Server w/ SP3 integrated install. I have only the Common Files, FTP Server and Internet Services Snap-In installed in Internet Information Services in Windows Component Add/Remove. I have one ftp server setup and created and functioning well. My cable modem connection is 128kbps (16KB/s) upload so I was wanting to limit this to (12KB/s) not to hog all the bandwidth to the other computers on the router are free to do other things. I have checked the enable bandwidth throttling option however the server continues to use max bandwidth, I have attempted to restart the service and even rebooted but still seems to use max upload. I've tried google and ms.com but this topic seems to be poorly documented or Im just not looking in right place. Are additional components needed for bandwidth throttle to function correctly? well if you are using the ftp to have peeps dl from you then you should set the trottle to 16k or less cause they are dowloading from you so u are uploading if you set the trottle to 128k which is more than your upload cap then obviously it will exceed max bandwith of your network before the trottle. -
XP OS?2 16 bit application support missing?
Four and Twenty replied to wjjasla's topic in Everything New Technology
if the dlls and paths exist in 2k why not copy them off of a 2k install into the same locations in xp then if there are some reg settings try to export them from 2k and inport them to xp hope this helps i have done thing like this in the past to get apps working so it may work for you -
