Hello, I am running Win2K Pro. When I try to go into Display Properties, and then try to go into advanced, I get the following error msg: An error occurred while Windows was working with the Control Panel file C:\WINNT\System32\desk.cpl Is there any way to fix this? All help will be greatly appreciated! (btw, I have tried reinstalling the video drivers to no avail. Also, this started after I was installing beta drivers for my banshee, and has now continued with my GeForce256.)

I need to flash my dvd-rom's bios so that it will work in Win2K. However, I have no clue on how to make a boot disk that will work with it. What do I need to do?

I have been trying to figure out where in the hell my printugp.inf file is in order to make the hack posted here work: http://x37.deja.com/getdoc.xp?AN=594269598&CONTEXT=952501825.1328414726&hitnum=2 I installed Win2k on a freshly formatted system... Could that have anything to do with it? I cannot, for the life of me, find the file on the Win2K CD or on my HD. Any ideas?? HELP! -URinsane

I think you all misunderstood what Unkoon was trying to say. I don't think that he means Win2K is the problem, he means the driver support that many of the manufacturers offer is less than great. I saw that he had the same problem with his Lexmark 3200 as I did, and I am sure that his other problems were just as fun. The problem is, not all of us have the time to try and hack the drivers to make them work with our systems. I spent all night and the next day hunting down driver releases, hacked drivers, and solutions to make drivers work in Win2K when I installed it on this box. I really do like Win2K, however, during that long evening, I thought more than once that I should just screw it and go back to Windows 98. Right now, there are some features of my system that must go unused because of a lack of drivers (Digital out on my soundcard, non digital sound on my Microsoft Digital Speakers, etc) Oh well. -URinsane

OK, after spending the whole night making Win2K work on my machine, or rather, the drivers for certain hardware, I managed to break it does anyone know what to do when you get this msg in win2k? "config.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." And then it won't run the program. I am hoping I won't have to reinstall!! I have tried copying the config.nt file from the repair directory, from a friend's machine, and from the config.tmp file. NOTHING WORKS!! Help! BTW, the title of the error msg is: 16 Bit Windows Subsystem The problem seems to only occur when i run an setup file, and it is kinda bad since I need to install all of these things Thanks for any help in advance!
