Providing you have the latest service pack, i believe its included Right click on the shortcut, and click properties. Then go the the compatibility tab You can try anything from Windows 95 to Windows 2000. It may hav DOS options too. Just try combinations to see what works

I think you only need DHCP. SOmeone with more experience may have to help you with this. I am using Server 2003

Laptops are a bit hard to upgrade. You have to take special care with taking them apart. Unless you are a technician it's best not to do it. I have worked on several brands of notebooks, and it's easy to break a keyboard, or cable if you aren't careful

Have you tried using any command line switches? run the exe with the /? switch and see if it has a switch to disable warnings

They are upgradable You have to buy the version of the chip that you are running though. Pentium IV has the Desktop version, Mobile Version, and Centrino Versions, and Celeron Versions in laptops

Do not buy a VIA based board Since you have the option of a NFORCE2 board, go that route Gone are the days where AMD users have to buy subpar chipsets, with more issues then kobe bryant's accuser anyways, Nforce2 is stable, well priced, and has so many great features. My fault for not looking for the area the post was in. Then to be honest I don't know. You may try the system recovery which would restore it back to the original files, but I'm not sure you can remove it, unless you have a backup of your system before you installed MP9

The Rhine Brige Map is ok, and there are some other ones, although they are mostly beta maps and still need work. Check out Terminal INsanity's West Custom Map server, then run all the current 3rd party maps, and on thier main server they run a 10 map, including 3 maps twice in one rotation.
