THe good thing about those memory is you can run them at really good timings, and have room to overclock. If you can find pc3500 OR 3700 for about the same price might considering those too.
-
You can use PC3200 I would suggest looking at the Kingston HyperX or the Corsair TwinX series. Both are excelent.

Right click on my computer, click manage Go to services and right click the offending service click properties, Then you can disable, set to manual or automatic.

Brand loyality is just about dead. THe Pentium name is more recognizable to those who aren't tech heads. I think CPU's should be open source. You get the chip for free and only pay for technical support. That way we here at ntcompatible get free rides, while the little old lady who can't install the chip gets to pay for all of ours by calling Tech Support.

Or better yet P4.2.4.22.1.34
-
They could call it the Penitum 242, or 246 lol Then again AMD never was good at marketing
-
Speaking of P5 I saw something interesting on betaplace yetesterday. I was trying to sign up for Longhorn, and when it asked my CPU, it listed P3,P4 and P5 I guess the name is set already.

Do you have the latest patches for both the game and Itouch software?
-
No threat just a pain in the ass. AMD is pushing INtel to develop faster, which is good for all of us

You have to start from scratch go NTFS, according to MS to avoid any issues.

Linux and Unix had 2 times the vulnerabilities last year as windows based machines. It all depends on the Admin.

They took steps to keep from being attacked so the URL is down for now.

How long are the leases good for DHCP? -
PCCHIPS is the lowest of the low I wou;dnt wish one on my worst enemy. Stick with NFORCE2 Or don't bother getting an AMD
-
Have you checked the settings under email for file size?

The best way to install your OS is have a private subnet with a DHCP server with everything slipstreamed into the network install including the hotfixes. Quite simple to setup and easier then having to making new media constantly. With all due respect to the admins here, if you are a systems admin, or network admin for your company, you should have known about this. IF not, you need to make www.cert.org your homepage, which lists all new issues with all OS's. And subscribe to MS and Linux alerts which will inform you of any security issues with the respective OS's Information Security is an ongoing war, and you have to be proactive.

Exchange Server 2003, and rpc ober http (no vpn) a q:
sapiens74 replied to duhmez's topic in Everything New Technology
IM running the beta and have it blocked at the Firewall Shouldn't be an issue on the intranet though. I believe the latest worm takes advantage of the RPC service itself, and I don't believe it will affect exchange using that capability -
I think that is a hardware level attribute. Myabe I am wrong and someone can provide a solution

My answer was honest, has nothing to do with AMD But a lack of good reliable dual chipsets. He wants SCSI, pref 320 for video editing, and to be honest AMD doesn't offer very many good solutions for a solid performer, with reliability. THe Xeon class is tailor made for video editing. Dual Chips both with Hyperthreading will made video editing much less of a chore, and the memory bandwidth is much higher on INTEL systems. You have a choice of chipsets from INTEL to Serverworks that both provide good solid chipsets with reliability in mind. Remember this is not a typical workstation, this has to be a real powerhouse, and rock solid stable. My setup is a Dell Poweredge 1600SC with 1 Xeon 1.8GHZ and 640MB ECC Reg Ram, with a Sony DV board, with 3 firewire ports. IT does fine video editing, and I have Dual SCSI 320's with a nice 120GB for storage. IT uses a Serverworks chipset, althought the 7200 series of chipsets from INTEL are great too. Make sure you get a good firewire board, which i assume you are using, I don't think those class of boards come with anything onboard. If you are building yourself instead of going with a Dell, then make sure you have a PS that's a bit on the overkill. Like 550w or so from a good vendor like Fortran, or ANTEC.
