Go intel. Get a nice 2.26 GHZ or if you want to overclock get a 1.6A or 1.8 and a 845E or G board

I'd go with the ASUS P4T533C or the Gigabyte GA-8IHXP and a 2.26GHZ P4. Get some good Samsung PC800 Rambus, or wait till the PC1066 comes out in like 2 weeks. Get a TI4600.

Totally agree with clutch on this one. I use the one from MS site and it works fine for me. Sun was using this as a tool to aggravate MS and they did a good job of it. So MS pulled it from XP, and then Sun got upset. Can't have it both ways.

ATi has the same problem AMD has. They have to overcome Years of mediocre products, so they have to fight twice as hard to get the same customers. IMO they released this card too close the the NV30. If they could have pulled it off 3 months ago that would have been a true Geforce killer. It will take at least 2 good leading edge Video Cards in a row to get my attention. Till then, I wish them the best

I second Brians statement Office machine dont have the horsepower to run XP. But I have had 3 crashes with XP since i have had it. Inluding the Betas and 2 VIa MB. It's stable as hell. Then Again so is my calculator. It usually when morons play admin that things go bad on any NT based OS.
