Macs network good with other Macs, not with windows

At one time, a MAC with a little less horsepwer could overcome the speed difference, because the memory subsystem was way more effecient..But now they are so far behind, just raw horsepower from the athlon and the p4, they cannot compete on speed. Although speed isnt everything, and thier style sometimes give people what they want, a unique home computing experience. Becuase of cost tho, the masses won't be flocking to apple anytime soon, especially with the PC market like it is. You can buy 2 high end systems, for 1 good mac.

Price isnt everything. I prefer a mix of Price and customer service.

right click on my computer. click properties Go to advanced tab.... GO to the start up and recovery option, and click settings Then make sure automatically restart is unchecked.

DOS, I never heard of that. My wife is Active Duty and I worked for the DOD, as an IMO, and we were never encouraged to take products home. Now I do know for a fact that the Army has a blanket license for some software, but unless you are doing work at home, you are not encouraged to take it home. THo the Army does encourage you to have Formflow, and various other proggies that are usefull

Might be the sound card. Disable it then try to run it with no sound. See what happens.

SO for those of us, not including me, that cannot take the Corporate cd home from our job, unless you own your own business and have bought the proper liscences, what do you recommend?

What is the point of having a DVD player in your PC? ANd on top of that to have a DVD player at anything above 2x? What's the ****ing point? No one is releasing any software or games on the format.

Yeah I traded my TFT in for a CRT. You can get a good 21" for the price of a cheap 17"TFT

Anyone got this game running on an Audigy? Sounds are kinda wierd and you gotta turn to the left or right to hear someone talking. Game runs fine other then that

THats why IM thinking the same. Getting a combo drive or a really fast CDRW. DVD is a waste in my system

CLutch we are still getting the damn things on CD's. Alot of them at that. I did see a cool thing tho while I was downtown Seattle. Pioneer had a booth with thier Plasma Screens and a realtime DVD/R/RW recorder, just like a VCR. Was pretty cool. THe Video industry tho has pushed DVD's too the point that most stores have more of them then they do video tapes. But the computer industry who got the DVD thing going, has been pretty stagnent as of late. You know they Could use the extra space to give us better Cutscenes, at least at higher REZ.
