sapiens74 replied to DARTH maul's topic in Hardware
Do a clean OS install, Trust me -
Where are they selling? I want one. Anyone know anyplace?
-
It wont work, 98 can be made to read NTFS not boot form it tho unless in a dual boot environment with one fat16 or 32 partition
-
I havent found a site with one yet, if anyone knows of a place I can buy one let me know
-
Notice also when burning cd you see a progree bar that lasts like 10 seconds and then the cd is done

I'd say women too but it was a flawed invention. How can one thing bring so much pleasure, and so much pain ..... all at the same time then again thats why there is BEER! /CHEERS!
-
UNless of course you want to run a private CS server on an OC3 for all us ntcompatible junkies
-
Intel tho still makes the best chipsets. Amd needs to watch and learn
-
BEER! nothing cures so many ills as my favorite ale. /CHEERS!
-
SIS Hands down. They have made some descent chipsets in the past year
-
HAd same problem with plextor cdrw Have no clue I'd like to know as well
-
I finally did it. Tonight when I am finished my Lian Li case will have a P4 sticker on it. I am so tired of incompatiblities that I'm swicthing sides. To top it all off I bought an audigy. No matter how superior a chip is, it;s the whole platform that you have to consider

I just installed my new MB and CPU out , and had to reinstall all my stuff. Needless to say I had a problem activating my windows xp products. Anyone else had this problem? I was on the phone with MS for like 3 hours
-
Wouldnt take the number they gave me hehe, I had to reboot a couple of times and toroubleshoot. THat's counting office too btw
-
I wasnt planning on buying it but i played it at a Compusa Yesterday and just had to get it.
-
Just buy 2 512 sticks, makes it easier to oc anyway
-
478 cause you can get the new northwood, which uses lower voltage and easier to oc
-
Hes a glutton for punishment I guess. It's my payback for him getting a better IPAQ. Can't sync it right when he's running a Via MB. MMWWHAHHAHHAHAH!!
-
Gave them away to my friend. He's gonna try to blow it up with a water cooler
-
You know you want too, Get a good DDR board and you know that counting the 50 dollar coolers you need with an AMD chip, an P4 is about the same price, for a boxed version. BTW i gave my best friend my Athlon 1.4 and MSI board, let him deal with it hehe
-
Lol. I agree with most of that minus the Athlon naming convention. I do think that pure megahertz is hard to judge a cpu's speed. They should also take into consideration how often your machine crashes, and minus that from the athlon rating Thus 1800+ - 270 (15% downtime) = 1530 - 180(10% of stuff that doesn't run right) = 1350 So an Athlon XP 1800+ is really a p4 1350 ANd that's being conservative

No kidding. The worst intel has odne is have to recall a motherboard for which they replaced it with a free stick of ram for the trouble And all the bug ridden VIA boards they have yet to recall one, but opt to make a chipset "revision" and just release a new board that halfway works.
-
Amen They release an unfinished product then add an A to the chipset revision a month later, then release the newer boards with less problems
-
Actually the most stable may be the nforce boards

I tried installing mine and my whole machine went belly up I took it back
