    XP activation

    LOL I bought mine, I really do try to be legit. But talking to an impatient MS rep for 3 hours isnt very fun. I mean I'll buy another copy, cause all the left over parts I'll need one for my lan rig

    They havent met each other! Hope that never happens

    I'm a sellout!!

    Well you know what sold me back on INtel, I was thinking I never have problems with our CAD stations at work , even with Dual Video, Radeons and Geforces most of them, and they are all Intel Based. I just dont see the same problems with them. Ususally user ever, very rarely hardware.

    I'm a sellout!!

    I'd rather take the 10 percent speed decrease over the 20 percent instability. So far the 845d is rock solid stable, has a plethora (me thinks this means "alot") of features and was so easy to put together it was scarey. Bottom line is AMD needs to make thier own chipsets, they know thier chips best

    I'm a sellout!!

    It did feel kinda good to open a boxed intel CPU again. I got kinda giddy.

    I'm a sellout!!

    I work all week doing this stuff and don't wanna come home but to play games and check email. I dont't enjoy looking for "latency" patches or having to reload XP cause Via makes a crappy product. This came to a head when I was putting a video capture card in, it just seems like so much trouble to have to patch something 6 times to get something to work. Sad thing is Im a good tech, and can fix it, but I just dont want too.. Shouldnt have too

    Is Windows Less Secure than Linux, Not Here...

    Amen. Depends on the admin.

    Linux Playstation 2

    http://www.voodooextreme.com/comments.taf?postid=25488 That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Examples: 1. "I just bought a memory card for my Ps2 and I need instructions on recompiling the kernel" 2. "How do I "mount" the GTA3 CD" 3. "What's the command to start a game?" 4. "I keep getting LILO boot error when playing "backup" games" 5. "Why doesn't it have support for third party tv's?" Just a couple reasons why this was a bad idea

    Linux Playstation 2

    I think Linux goes well with the Ps 2 actually. Both are limited in functionality .

    Can you recommend and good online vendors?

    Check this out. I ordered Quicken Deluxe and Roxio EZ CD Creator 5.0 form Mwave about a month ago. The cd for Quicken wasnt Quicken , we came to the conclusion that it was bogus. Not only did they credit me for the quicken, but for the whole order +shipping +5 bucks. I was impressed

    Can you recommend and good online vendors?

    mwave, ordered about 10k in the least year and they have always been great, on time, and courteous. Not to mention their prices are great

    Tom's Hardware is becoming more biased...

    Amd doent have to buy friends, whereas INtel does, they are really hurting in the IT market where they have been traditionally stong. The keep dropping the ball on a lot of major issues, and guys like me who have input on our compaies systems recommend AMD now instead of INTEL . I am getting an ASUS P4B266 for my lan box soon (father in law works at ASUS) and like a 1.8 or something. I'll let you know how I feel when I get a p4 without the evil Ramb.... i wont even say it.

    Tom's Hardware is becoming more biased...

    Look at my specs, it is rock solid stable, even running 2 raid cards and 6 hard drives. And performs well too

    OS X-64 and AMD Hammer :)

    I'm begining to like apple alot, but they arent gonna be making any big contributions to the 64 bit os any time soon. They just now are releasing GHZ cpu's for thier high machines.

    Verizon = Hell on Earth

    ATT offers digital cable but no cable modems yet. I am moving to Hawaii in a few months and they have cable modems and kick *** digital tv, so Ill have my speed again.

    Verizon = Hell on Earth

    Sounds like kinda what I went through with qwest. I have 56k now and no problems. DSl can kiss my hairy toe. I'll take cable modems anyday, Hell the president of ATT Broadband made a commercial apology to all ATT's users over the @home thing. I cant even get a Qwest person to admit that I am really a customer

    Apple

    Just wanted to know what your opinion of Apple is. I used to have a passionate hate for Mac users but I think Apple has really made some great contributions to the home pC experience. I thought I 'd never say that. I like thier new Imac idea with the LCD and the IPOD is really kewl. ANyways just wanted to know what you guys thought.

    Athlon XP

    Got a question How good are the stock fans that come with the Athlon XP retail? Gonna order one Tuesday and need to know Thanks
  23. I'm looking too cause i lost my saved games and needed to recreate my level 35 pally i worked so hard to get
  24. After having a recent bout with Qwest I want to know what your Opinions are on so called high speed internet. My first of impression is that it's a joke. In korea I got 5 Mb DSL for 26 bucks a month. And they installed in within 2 days of ordering. Here 4 months later I still don't have DSL. And 50 bucks a month for a mere 768k
