I'll put my two cents into this one. No contest Geforce 1 or 2 ,Ultra or non kicks anything 3fdx has put out ...right in the ass. If you wanna play your Direct 3D games in 640 x 480 with 4X FSAA then buy a 3dfx product. You wanna jack up all the settings at any res and still be smooth..buy an Nvidia product.. Having the cdrom on the same channel as your hard drive wont slow it down although its probably wiser just so they have 2 clear channels.

it depends on the motherboard you are using as to whether the IDE controller is capable of supporting two devices at different speeds. ALL new ATA 66 and ATA 100 controllers can support 2 devices at different speeds......I.E CDROM and ATA 100 HD on same cable both achieving maximum speeds. I've had problems thi with certain name brand HD's on certain contollers tho and sometimes you have to do a little trial and error till you get the right configuration. Try using a new cable and maybe putting second hard drive on the second controller. My 2 sense Laterz

I dual boot same config as well no problems at all. I leave all Fat32 tho to make it easier to access drives in ME.. Get tired of rebooting to get to an NTFS volume..although you prol would benefit from using it if you have multiple drives

They have had problems since it first came out with CDROM's not recognizing it cause the Protection on it. Go figure..I couldnt play it in Win2000 till the first patch. Try using the newer beta i think is out ..forgot the # tho

Trist try installing the Via 4 in 1 pack seprately starting with the INF then the IDE then the IRQ routing then the AGP miniport respectively. I believe thats a problem that teh IRQ patch will solve tho.. GIve it a shot

I am able to delete them within WinME after i disable the system restore features. I have it set to show all files including operating system files. Hope that helps

Tell that to the real professionals that bought The CC820 for stability or the 1.13 GHZ... Real professionals run linux or unix..so I'm told. I will concede that AMD K6-2,K6-3 sucked hardcore ass. I hated the chips the MOBO and everthing related too. I also used to buy 3dfx only products.. Now things have changed and I call it like I see it. 3dfx sucks so does Intel..so does Gore but I'm not going there..have a hard time defending myself on the other issues . BTW I'm flaming Intel not on their products for the most part but the way they do business. I still have my celeron 300A and love it. So how can youy say your suprised it overclocks when in fact that should be its speed. Quake 3 should perform better with an P3 or Celeron 2 cause the SSE...Thats the only game it wins on..or application for that matter... Dumb you say. I'm not the one buying the C2 a POS chip. And it has nothing to do AMD vs Intel.. Guys hate to rain in on your party but Celerons suck. Yeah they can be overclocked but the CPU is totally outdated. Ive got a Duron coming in 650 to be exact cost me $59 bucks. Sad thing is it prol has more horsepower than your C2 overclocked. Save up and buy a T-Bird/Duron Board

Well after installing WinME 4 times I think I figured this one out. My specs are: T-bird 900 on Asus A7V 128 megs PC-100 RAM SB Live! value Elsa Geforce2 32MB I can say for a fact now that its the SB Live! drivers causing the problems. I installed every driver from 5.22 on up to 6.31 and same thing everytime....Windows protection error when shutting down. So i did a fresh install of WinME and did not install the Live! drivers. Every other driver was installed and working fine.I rebooted it 20 times including complete shutdowns and it works flawlessly. I then installed the newest 9x drivers from creative and the first reboot got the same thing. So after another fresh WinME install I used the Gateway drivers and it has worked like a champ ever since. A little note to Creative Labs: Please release working drivers for all platoforms. When i have the WinME beta for 6 months to test then surely you have the tools to have drivers completed when a major OS is released, Esp when WinME went gold nearly 3 months ago. Get on it!! Creative
