ok so whats the good word on the best approach to the SBLive in WinXP? is it best to just use the drivers that are installed when you install the OS or should i update to the 3300's? whats your opinions?
-
ha i got the e-mail like 10 min after i posted that message ... i'll download and install it ASAP, but i don't think my original question was really answered ... ok, so WinXP comes with the 3300 drivers already installed, so are you saying that i should leave it alone and use those drivers (the ones that are installed with XP) or is there a better set that i should install?
-
lol ... i didn't know that i guess these are all things i will find out when i get my GD access information e-mail from microsoft

so whats the good word on GeForce 2 drivers under WinXP? is there a version that works the best? i have an ASUS v7700 Deluxe GeForce 2 GTS ... i've heard the ASUS drivers don't work in XP so i guess i'll have to use regular ones (no big deal just as long as it works and works fast) any opinions on best drivers appreciated!
-
i've also heard the 12.41's work pretty well, i'll keep them in mind

hey just curious, for those of you who have joined the Windows XP Preview Program, how long does it take after you give MS your billing information for them to send you an e-mail with the FTP site and login information so that you can get in there and download the ISO? i've already got the confirmation e-mail saying that i registed successfully and i've also signed up in that newsgroup, but its been about half an hour and i don't have any download information yet. just curious as to how long its supposed to take thanks!

spoken like a true ******* LOL j/k ... i should actually call that number and see what happens. haha, MS can suck my *** until they send me my f***ing e-mail
-
does anyone know if there is a phone number you can call to bother microsoft about the access information?
-
well i guess i'm being treated "fairly"

how long did it take you to get your access information e-mail?

i deleted the gimme.dll or whatever it was called (actually i just renamed it) and the game works now, i never had to delete this file before i got my GeForce 2 so it was an odd problem

ok, which of these 2 series of drivers do you all think are better? the 7.xx (such as 7.52s) or the 12.xx (such as 12.00s)? i'm looking for game performance and FPS ... i'm pretty sure these are the 2 fastest sets of drivers so i was wondering which sets people prefer? ok, i'm pretty confused about this ... i reinstalled Win2k the other day, and my internet has always been pretty fast, I'm on a T3 that my school provides in this apartment complex. i usually download anywhere up to 1.2 megabytes per second (mb/s). well it gets that fast after i install a patch from www.speedguide.net ... they make it for 9x/nt/2k ... and damn it works great but back to the point. for some reason, my internet is slow as molasses this time around ... i installed the patch over and over, but nothing i try works to speed it up ... sites that i download at least 800 - 900 kb/s off of only go about 40 kb/s now ... in fact, nothing goes very fast compared to how it used to. i know its something in my registry and not my campus network cause all my friends are fine. i'm starting to get pissed at this ... i would like to fix it, but i don't really know where to start. does anyone know what to look for in the registry that would cause slow transfer speeds? i know this has to be fixable, somebody please help me out! damn, i was afraid of that oh well, i think i can deal with it for now since this summer i'm gonna be back on friggin' dialup again. i'll wait until there are some good reasons to reinstall, such as IE6 Final and SP2 ... some new and improved Detonator drivers for the GeForce ... it'll all be good. i still think there has got to be a way to fix this, why the hell would it just "not be fast" ?
-
yeah i do have SP-1 ... i guess i forgot to mention that i'm running Windows 2000 SP-1 with all the appropriate patches installed from windows update. i've tried to reapply that patch many times, i ever checked the registry entries myself and made sure they were getting put in there correctly, everything was right, but its still creeping along
-
damn, thats what i was afraid of ... how hard is it to make a good set of drivers for Win2k? the Win98 ones are fine, you wouldn't think it would be very difficult to do. oh well, i guess thats too much to ask
-
maybe i'm wrong for interupting the santa cruz convo, but the topic of this post is to find out if the new SBLive drivers are good or not, and i don't think its been made very clear whether or not they are good yet. if anybody knows for sure if these should be used, please post it here, thanks!!

yeah i know what you're talking about, like how my 20 gig drive only shows like 17.4 until you go to properties ... well when you pop a CD in you can view the CD Information and it will tell you the exact size of the CD ... most of them are around 703mb or 704mb ... windows would only read it as 680mb or so if it were a drive
-
80 min CDs hold 703 mb max ... i haven't come accross one that holds more than that
-
yeah, i don't need the support to play the game, but the graphics suck even more than they do with a Voodoo 3 ... there has got to be a way to fix that though
