like the title says has anybody got star trek generations too work on win2k it crashes when i try too run it but it installs just fine B.T.W people who still play dos games and want sound in those games on win2k on this page there is a program named vdmsound it isnt finished yet but a lot of dosgames can play sound with this utility ( hell if you want sound with all youre dos games just buy soundfx 2000 ) ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

well i am positive that it was the creative voodoo banshee which was causing the freeze because now my nephew is using an ati rage pro 3d and his system runs like a train no lockups anymore ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

hi there guys i have a problem or better yet my nephew had a problem His system - p2 350 - qdi mainboard ( via mobo ) - 64 mb ram ( yea i know this isnt quit enough for win2k ) - 48 speed creative cdrom drive - hp 8100 cd burner - seagate 13.4 gig harddrive - soundblaster 128 pci now here is the problem win2k installs just fine and runs fine also but whenever he turns off the computer ( through win2k offcourse ) and he turns it back on win2k will fail too boot at the splash screen of win2k ( shutdown works proparly ) the only way too get win2k going again is too clear his bios setup ( you know with the jumper thingie ) and then all of a suddon win2k will boot again This is strange and if anybody knows a sollution please do so because this is just plain weird p.s win2k is installed as an standard pc not acpi system ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

oeps accidently looked wrong it is an modem wich has the conexant chipset sorry my mistake but also i cant find any win2k drivers for these chipset modems tooo ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

hi guys i have a third system now and i want too connect it too the internet using a phone line i have a modem which has the connectix chipset on it i installed win2000 and everythin works except the modem because microsoft didnt had any drivers for this modem i looked on driverguide for drivers but there are only win98 drivers and the connectix site www.connectix.com didnt supply any drivers ( hell i cant find any drivers on it for that fact ) can anybody help me on win2k drivers for this modem because i am desperate ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

has anybody tried the nt4 drivers for the sblive with a special fix you can use these drivers in win2k too but i dont know if you have eax and or surround sound or if anything isnt functioning right i do know that it has directsound support because nt4 users can only use these drivers if they have service pack 3 or higher and those service packs include directx for nt4 ( not 7 tho ) has anybody tried it and does it work ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

i dont care about disabling services anymore i already disabled the ones i dont need but what i do need is set the systemcache too a fixed size or at the very least 25% smaller than i have now and i know this is possible. ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

well that wasnt much of an answer was it i know that i can limit it because a program named x-tegsetup can increase the system cache ( use large systemcache ) but i want to decrease it and i think that could be possible also. ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold

hey guys thanx for all the info but i solved my problem the problem was tht i had my usb irq disabled ( without it it still works in win98 ) but in win2k it needs an irq or the system hangs well now i finally have it going thanx guys for the help ------------------ revence is a dish best served cold
