I'm having trouble getting both of these two devices working on my Win 2K rig. The scanner is a Parrallel model. I've tried some drivers posted to this sight, but when the twain scanning desktop comes up and I click on scan nothing happens. The TV '98 seems to load OK, but when It scans for channels nothing shows up. Anyone have advice on either problem? Thanks.

My Advansys ABP 5140 ISA card will not function properly in Win2K. I'd like to replace it with a Win2K compatable PCI SCSI card. The only thing I need it for is my Panasonic CD Burner so I definately want to do it as cheaply as possible. Any recommendations? I saw the Tekram DC 315U PCI SCSI card that has win2K support for only $18. Anyone have any experience with this card? Apparently its much better than the DC 310 from the days of old.

Thanks for all of your suggestions guys. I ended up going with the Tekram DC 315U PCI SCSI. $18. Supposedly it works fine with Win2K. I'll let you know if it doesn't. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. To be honest, money is pretty tight right now and I'd hate to spend $100 for a SCSI card that only needs to operate a CD-R. I don't need a card that has a bios or is bootable anything. I just need a cheap 50pin SCSI card that has zero win2K issues. I'd love to get an adaptec, but in all honesty it's probably overkill. I was quite happy with my lowly ABP 5140 ISA card in Win '98. Never gave me a bit of problems. Unfortunately win2K won't see my CD-r if I use that card. Thanks.

I've got a standard Supermicro mid-tower ATX case that turns itself off when win98 shuts down. Shouldn't it do the same with win2K? When I shutdown win2K I get the "It is now safe to turn off your PC", but I have to manually hit the power key on the case. What makes it even worse is that I have to hold the key down for 4 or 5 seconds and it ends up rebooting instead of shutting down. What gives? Doesn't the ATX shutdown work in win2K?

I've got an ABP-5140 SCSI card in my machine that I use for my Panasonic CD Burner. It works fine in Win98, but I'm having trouble getting it to work properly in Win2K. I know the card is not that great, but it suits my needs fine since it's only used for my burner. Also, if I can't get it to work does anyone have any recommendations on a cheap SCSI card that works well with Win2000? Thanks

I'll try the Advanced Power Management fix. And no I'm not using a sound blaster live soundscard. I'm using an MX300. Thanks.
