You know, I have no idea As far as I know, unless you buy a proper server case with redundant power supplies Actually - I really have no idea
-
It's usually down to the Power management settings on you motherboard Have a play around wit the apm settings That should cure it
-
I guess I should really read my posts

Thibs I know that one, but 2k crashed way too many times - I've had it on since Feb, and re-installed at least twice a month Nagual - F5/f6 ????

As far as I've been told, as said above It needs to be physical memory +100 meg, but also, if it's anything like NT, just putting it on another partition from your main, it improves performance, even if you have one drive split into 2. Don't ask me how, but this does work
-
Well, It's weird, but my machine hasn't crashed once under ME, but would crash at least 3 or 4 times a day under 2000 You do the math
-
Ahh yes - I know that, but... I have a Gigbyte 7IXE (stop laughing) An Athlon 500 And a GeForce 256 And we all know that combination doesn't have the greatest success rate with W2K Hence I need to get the best out of WinMe If I had better hardware, then 2000 would be the o/s of choice, but I don't and it isn't. Now stop stating the obvious, and help me out here

I've finally got the final release of Win Me for testing and it seems pretty cool Loads fast Supports everything I have barring my Live (no hassle there though) Just wondering if anyone has any tips about
-
Cheers mate - I'll give that a try
-
By the way - I'm using 5.22 Detonator drivers Before anyone says anything, I have tried others with the same results
-
For once - I can help For some reason unbeknowst to me, and apparently to Epson UK technical support, the drivers for the GT-5000 SCSI are part of the GT-5500 download on the epson page Here's the link http://www.epson.co.uk/support/download/win2000/scan.htm It worked for me, and the updated scan engine is lovely Have fun!

Ok - it's been a few weeks now and I'm getting a little pissy with haveing to use a V3 3000 I decided to go for it - Bought an Athlon, a Gigabyte 7ixe m/b and a Ge Force 256. Much quicker, but also much more unstable. I then found out after my parting of cash that W2K, AMD Chipsets and Ge Force's don't like each other. AMD have been promising some new drivers but I haven't heard anything!! Anyone any ideas?

Sad news. If you have a GE Force card and an AMD based motherboard, there are many problems with the system locking up It's a known fact, and I have only just found out about it - Nvidia and AMD are working on the problem as we speak. I'm just glad I kept my Voodoo 3 - it's alot slower, but at least it works. No crashes now for a while anyway

I can't remeber where I heard it, but supposedly the best setup for virtual memory is your total physical memory +100 meg I've got 256 meg and a swapfile of 350 - 450, and it works like a treat
