Lo folks, When I had Windows 98, I had a little patch which allowed me to read Audio CD's and look at the WAV files on the CD. Is there such a patch, or is it possible to enable the same thing with Windows 2000 or Windows XP? Many thanks. Davey.

To remove and then reinstall NetMeeting: Copy the Msnetmtg.inf file from the %SystemRoot%\Inf folder to your desktop. Click Start, click Run, type the following command, and then press ENTER: "%SystemRoot%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection NetMtg.Remove 132 msnetmtg.inf" (without the quotation marks) NOTE: This command is case-sensitive so you must type it exactly as it appears. Right-click the Msnetmtg.inf file that you copied to your desktop, and then click Install. If you are prompted, insert your Windows 2000 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. After the installation procedure is finished, restart your computer. Right-click the Msnetmtg.inf file that you copied to your desktop, and then click Install. If you are prompted, insert your Windows 2000 CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. After the installation procedure is finished, restart your computer. If you start the uninstallation procedure, all of the files and registry entries for NetMeeting are removed. Although the System File Protection feature replaces the files, the registry entries are not overwritten unless you reinstall NetMeeting.

Lo folks, This one is starting to drive me nuts. The CD player app in Windoze 2000 used to pick up the track names from Tunes.com For the last couple of weeks it just keeps saying that the cd hasn't been found in the database. I know there is something not right cause I've had this problem once before, problem is I can't remember how I fixed it. I've tried uninstalling the CD rom, then reinstalling it. Made sure that the toptions for indexing the media are all correct in Admin tools etc etc. Tis driving me up the wall this problem, anyone got any ideas on how to fix it? Davey.

Lo folks, I've got a problem with win2000's music CD player. It was downloading the tracknames (playlist things) up untill a few days ago when it suddenly stopped. Now no matter what I do It just keeps saying album not found. I know those albums are listed in whatever database it is searching in, as in previous installs of Windows 2000 it has found em with no problems. Running Service pack 1. Any ideas? Dave.

Lo there, I have 3 machines at home all running Win2000 which are networked together. I'm using standard BNC on every machine. The network was put together ages and ages ago when I ran win95, and as all the cables are in the walls I don't really want to start changing to something else. 1st things 1st, installed on each machine is the following. Client for Microsnot networks TCP/IP File and Printer sharing for Ms Networks. I'm using the 10.0.0.x ip set for each machine. I can see all computers on the network from each other machine. Network neighbourhood shows them all up etc etc. The problem I have is when I map a network drive from one machine eg: \\machine_name\c$ It maps perfectly but, if i leave it for a wihle then goto My_Computer to access it again it shows a big red cross through it as though its lost the mapping. Simply double clicking on it opens access again and the red cross vanishes. Question is why is that red X appearing after a while. I'v timed it and its not a fixed time thing its quite random. While its a simple problem its driving me mad. Anyone got an suggestions? TIA Dave

Lo there, the Intel SE440BX-2 does not support APG 4X. It supports a maximim of AGP 2X with side banding. Your graphics card does and you can set it to 4X on the card, but it will still use AGP 2X. Dave

Lo guys / girls, Yeh I'v checked all that. I can get audio with Digital Audio ticked in the CD properties in device manager. While thats great, its still kinda annoying not being able to get analogue audio like i should. I do a lot of chatting online and the digital audio option does interfere with that, hence why i would like analogue. Many thanks for the suggestions, and keep em coming. Dave

Lo folks, I got a weird problem with CD audio. I have a Sblive 1024 and installed windoze 2000. Everything seemed fine until I tried to play a music CD, there was no audio at all. I checked the cable running from the CDROM to the soundcard and that was fine, it was plagged into where the CD cable should be. I then tried reinstalling Liveware 3 and that didn't work. As a last resort i tried plugging the cable from the CDROM into the AUX in on the soundcard. I got audio. It seems as though i need to plug the cable into my AUX in on the card to get any audio from the CDROM at all. While not a dissaster it is annoying me. I tried a format and reinstall of Win 2000 this morning and that didn't solve anything. Anyone got any ideas? Davey
