Win2k locks up when I receive a call, have Actiontec Call Wa

I dont think the problem is the driver There must be some program that is running that listens for calls on the modem like software that came with the modem Try pressing control+alt+del or look in the startup group or in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run If you find it delete the registry key or the icon in the startup group Try uninstalling the driver and the modems software and restarting your computer Win2K will find the device and install the driver ONLY and not the modems additional software

    DirectCD

A warez rip works perfectly Just enter the path of the CD as c:\ezcd or wherever you downloaded it to Use APCOMPAT.EXE to force Direct CD 3.0 on EZCD Creator CD to install DONT REBOOT then install the upgrade to 3.01 and reboot

    Outlook with Dual boot.

OK this works for Outlook Express, dont know about 2000 Windows 2000 stores mails in c:\documents and settings\username\application data\Identities\{BA10A280-E408-11D3-85AF-9217A0E14E40}\Microsoft\Outlook Express Win 98 stores it in c:\windows\Identities\{BA10A280-E408-11D3-85AF-9217A0E14E40}\Microsoft\Outlook Express To fix this in Win2000 start Outlook goto tools/options maintenance tab click the store folder button write down the location listed Now go to Win98 same thing as above but change the location to the same as Win2000 and all should work fine

anyone know of a program like this?

Actually there is a way if the line is busy I cant think of the name of it but I remember coming accross a program+hardware package that will recognise the beep on the line when call waiting is on of the incoming call and the software will pause the net connection and send the fax connection to the fax machine or fax/data software on the PC and resume the internet connection when the fax is finished

    outlook express crashes.

I had that problem IE5 will NOT allow reinstallation of existing programs so you must go to control panel then add remove programs Look for Outlook Express 5 and uninstall it You will NOT loose any emails or settings If it doesnt uninstall goto c:\program files and delete its directory Then go to your IE5 CD and reinstall outlook express

    CD Copier Gamers Edition 2.0

Today I installed CD Copier Gamers Edition hoping to play my favourite game and rebooted an got an error Of course didnt boot in safe mode either second time this week to reinstall W2K This program doesnt even warn of incompatibility. IMSI's website @ http://www.imsisoft.com/ is not at all helpful and does NOT say that its not W2K compatible Does anyone have a patch or upgrade or something to make this work??? --------------- Eric Marques mail@ericmarques.net
