My Pictures, My Download Files...blah I want them to be gone
Busby replied to pmistry's topic in Customization & Tweaking
To "get rid of" From ICQ make it hidden and it doesn't show up in IE Favorites anymore. -
There is a patch available for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 in Win2k and NBA 2001 is one of the many EA programs that don't work in Win2k.
-
What happened in your case was you ran a Quake 3 update that just updated the quake3.exe and did not include the PAK files. I believe that was 1.29g that did that but i am not sure. The way to fix that was to install the point release before that one and then install the other one.

Enable the viewing of Hidden files and folders and goto C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Info\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\Identities and there should be one folder. All your mail messages are in those files and I think the account settings are too.

It's not any cooling problems or hardware problems. It's Tribes 2! Seriously it is. When I had my Voodoo 3 that game would not run except in windowed mode and Dynamix could have cared less about Voodoo owners. Some people have had luck some haven't. Make sure and patch Tribes to the latest version and even try the BETA patch.

This is a long shot but if you are using NTFS set up NTFS Securities on the C drive and make it so the users can't write to it yet also setup admin accounts so that they can.

This is probably the weirdest thing I've ever seen but while playing Madden 2002 my joystick just won't work. It will be perfectly fine, I chose a play and then it quits working. It gets power, Windows recongizes it still and it works in the test area in the Sidewinder properties. It is connected via the MIDI port on my SB Live Value and it has worked flawlessly before on the same card and same OS just different hardware setup. Specs: AMD 1.4 Ghz Tbird @1.75V (mobo produces 1.83 at the "detected" voltage) Abit KT7A-RAID Asus V7700 32MB GeForce 2 GTS SoundBlaster Live! Value Netgear FA310TX 512MB PC133 Memory NEC DVD-ROM Iomega CD-RW Western Digital 45GB and Maxtor 15GB on HPT370 controller System temp: 29-32 C Processor Temp: Under 50 C 500W CompUSA PSU (Not AMD Approved but produces enough 3.3V and 5V) I don't use the joystick in any other games so I can't tell you if it is Madden specific or not. This thing worked flawlessly (as I said) on my old setup. VIA chipset problems maybe?
-
I've eliminated too much of a load on the SB Live as a cause because I turned sound off and it still did the same thing. I'm going to try incresing my 3.3V level up a little and see if that does anything. *EDIT* Considering the SB Live only uses 5V and 12V there is no point to raising 3.3V levels, oh well.

I've never experienced these said pops. What SB Live cards are you people running? I'm running a 2 year old SB Live! Value card and as I said no crackling or pops.

VCDs are in MPEG format, therefore they are uncompressed. DivX files can NOT be played by DVD players and DivX files are in AVI format therefore you can not make a VCD using DivX files without converting them to MPEG. Either deal with 2 CDs or buy/rent a DVD, only way I see it. And also don't take this as a flame just informative.

Why should 'Services & Controller App' access the Web?
Busby replied to reversing_drive's topic in Software
Could be the Messanger/Alerter service or the Distrbuted Link Transaction Coordinator or Task Scheduler. -
Code Red is still going strong.. Look at my log file!!

If IIS isn't installed are you still at risk? Cause I have Win2k Pro and Win2k Server on 2 machines, one is the server (Win2k Server) and only one that has direct access to net but IIS is not installed. Also does this affect Apache server? -
Let me get this straight, 5 different images, each one you want a rollover on? If so it is rather easily done. Email me (busby1218@charter.net) or just post here and I'll get back with ya.

PC Speaker beeps everytime I empty my recycle bin
Busby replied to stpatrick44's topic in Customization & Tweaking
Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Multimedia Change your recycle bin sound to a WAV file and it will stop. -
Win2k Server setup keeps restarting itself after it installs the networking stuff, it won't go past that, it'll just reboot the computer then restart setup. It's a continuous process. How can I stop it and actually istall Win2k server? I've installed it before with the same CD and on the same computer.
-
All is good now. I used an older CD with only SP1 and it worked, I'll remake a SP2 CD and see how that works. Thanks anyway.
-
Use your 256MB RAM or more for a little bit then switch to 128MB, you'll notice a HUGE difference, I know I did when I went down to 128 from 256.
-
Don't need burning abiity in CD-R Win to make an integrated SP2 CD. Simply start CD-R Win, ignore the ASPI layer error message, goto Backup and choose Make/Create an ISO and then burn in Easy CD.

If they have htaccess file enables, unless it is a part of your contract that you can't mess with them then you should be able to edit it, unless you have in writing that you can't. If not what problem exactly are you having? Basically htaccess files tell the webserver that it can do certain things ( list directories, exec cgi programs, allow SSI).
-
If you have htaccess files most likely it's Apache.
-
Well the htaccess file is used in Apache server, not sure about IIS though. The easiest way is probably to edit the htaccess file to enable different features as it is used as a rule set type file for Apache web server. www.apache.org for info about the htaccess file.

Select the Use Other Drivers selection or choose a display list and click Have File.
