Running a 1152x864 resolution. This monitor does like a max refresh of 85hz at 800x600, 60hz at 1152x864. In the pic I enabled all taskbars to not be auto hidden but usually all are hidden.

On my server box (runnin Win2k Server) I have 2 NICs. One is for internal LAN and has File and printer sharing enabled. The other is for my cable modem. Tonight I got a weird ICQ and thought maybe someone was tryin to get my IP to hack me so I goto my server and do a netstat -an. I see the normal stuff I can expect but then I see a port 139 for my cable modem and see that it's listening. Is Win2k just plain stupid? It (File and Printer Sharing) isn't checked in the Connection settings box for cable NIC but it still is listening on that port. How do I stop it from listening on port 139. Also is port 2115 used for network drive mappings? and what is port 5361? Thanks

I know 139 is file and printer sharing. And I know I can "disable" it by unchecking it and I have done that but it still listens on port 139 according to netstat -an. Now I have 2 connections and 1 does have it enabled but it shouldn't listen on port 139 if it is disabled, correct?

Well I figured out what uses port 5361, it's pcAnywhere. still wondering about port 2115 cause that is used on my computer to connect to my server and the only real connection I have with it is a drive mapping.

There is a registry hack that disables those shares. If you want it either post here or email me at busby1218@charter.net

Probably a stupid question but did you format and reinstall when you upgrading? If not that could be a problem, I know Windows doesn't like having to change motherboards and stuff b/c of the drivers, could be wrong though.

If you are a BETA tester tell me the "bug" that if you load a saved buddy list and uncheck merge it won't show your buddies till you sign-off and re-signon and also it doesn't load your sound preferences, but you can save sound preferences, I emailed them but I don't know if they got it or not. This is on Win2k SP2.

Ok I made this PERL script and it was working flawlessly, untill today, of course near the time I was about to start using it. It's for a LAN Party registration and I made an array and told it to look through the array and if a predefined variable equals an array value then set another variable equal to < font color = ' gold ' > $alias. Well it worked but now isn't....everything else is working though. Cause it stretches the screen and I didn't know about it and there is no real need Although it's a very cool feature.

Then do HTML and for the href have the program shortcuts in the a tag.

Uhhhhhh to run applications in the desktop it'll be faster and easier to do it using shortcuts.

Stupid Nestscape. I installed to test a website I made to make sure it worked and then I uninstalled it. I deleted the actual folder, registry entries. Well now I get errors all the d#$% time. This is the error: Unable to start a DCOM Server: {E67D6A10-4438-11CE-8CE4-0020AF18F905}. The error: "The system cannot find the path specified. " Happened while starting this command: C:\PROGRA~1\Netscape\COMMUN~1\Program\netscape.exe -Embedding I have 12 of these in my Event Viewer.

Well I went through and cleared the registry (searched for Netscape) and it stopped. I just reinstalled anyway so all is good right now.

Don't worry about the additional driver stuff in WIn2k. Install the printer and share it. Goto the Win ME box and go through the Add Printer wizard. Choose Network printer then find the printer. Then install Win ME drivers on the ME box and all should be good.

Tried turning off "Show Window Contents While Dragging"? I had a prob in Win98 with the taskbar messing up with that enabled.

It was a rather early build. 2442 or something. I have 2474, I'm debating about trying it.

Have you tried installing the Windows 2000 drivers? I tried an earlier build of XP and my V3 2000 PCI worked fine.

The name is rather deceiving. Smooth scrolling actually messes up the smoothness of scrolling. Turn it off and see if it is better. 75% chance that it is.

I have Office XP and everytime I have a file open and double click a file in Explorer it opens a new word window (completely new) and not one with windows inside of it. So there are 2 listings of Microsoft Word in the taskbar when I double click on the file instead of one. I don't like this. I've looked in the options and the customize and there is nothing there! *EDIT* Actually it is when I open another file no matter what when a file is open.

Only Word files that I know of.....It's rather weird.

I know if you right click an IE shortcut and goto Properties that on the Shortcut tab you can chooose what size where it says "Run:"
