Guys..is there a way to optimize our connectivity to our server? My problem is its to long for me to wait. or is this normal! my setup is : 1 WIN2K Server 1 Win2K Pro ( Workstation ) 1 XP Pro ( Workstation ) When I connect using XP to the server, I dont have any problem but my concern is during displaying the "Applying for personal settings" it took about 1 - 2 minutes before it completes! Is this normal? Win2K Pro dont have problems. Lowell

Ekstreme...your suggestion is to reinstall again the XP? huh 8) is there any other way to install it without reinstalling/setupping XP again?

guys..just wondering why XP did not show in device manager that ACPI installed? but instead MPS (Multi-Processor System). Yes my mobo is a multi-processor capable but I only use 1 CPU. And I think this is the cause why XP will not shut-off my box! My is a dual boot XP/98. When I boot in 98 and go device manager, ACPI was installed. and when you shutdown, it shut off my box. I dont think its in the bios because I already check GIGABYTE web site and I have the latest bios version. What do you think guys? any inputs? this is my system! guys...i think you cannot make ICS or File Sharing on TCP/IP if your using a crossed cable!, You need to install NetBEUI! protocol rather TCP/IP to make sharing.

Guys...im having problem wid my keyboard. hi guys, can i eliminate tick sound coming out from my sound card when playing music? (WINAMP/WMP/etc.) my box GIGABYTE mobo dual pro III 667 512MB 40 GB SB Live 52x CDROM 10/100 3Com Leadtek 2000TV Card XP 2600/WIN98 LG 8x4x32 is there any components that may conflict to my sound? in win98 dont have problem at all. in XP all drivers installed are from XP default.

Atreyu.... i already tried setting up DHCP and obtain their TCP settings automagically from the server and also their DNS....i tried all !!!! I donno whats wrong with this...im planning to reinstall again the server side...but i still have to leave it for troubleshooting purposes...maybe we can still finds some solutions by then...but not reinstalling...HEHEHEHE Thanks

I have 5 machines at home and wired, 1 was for win2k Server, 1 NT workstation, 1 for XP Pro, 1 win2k pro and 1 win98. I already enable the internet sharing in win2k server and the server is connected to my ISP. But only NT workstation can surf the net while the others cannot. I dont have any firewall installed in all machines. All machines can PING with each other. Files and Folders sharing was OK...meaning the connections was OK. Where do i start troubleshooting this kind of problems guys?!! any ideas??? TX

Hi guys!, I just want to know what happen to my internet sharing in win2k. Actually, in our office we have 2 servers, 1 using NT4 and 1 win2K server. The NT4 was connected to our ISP using a wireless internet connections and the win2K is not. I have 2 options to make my Win2K server be onlined to the net, either i have to dial using a 56K modem to my ISP or im goin to dial to our NT4 (RAS from 3Com) using a local connection. We used before dialling to my ISP, BTW workstations connected in WIN2K have a static IP of 192.168.0.1 for win2k server and from 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.5 are for workstations. When I try to connect to our NT4, the connection was flawless have no problem except we have to configure our workstation to use proxy address of NT4 since it was using a MSproxy. when we try to dial again to my ISP, it works..connection have been made but our workstations will not be able surf if im goin to remove the PROXY address of my NT4. If im goin to put the address we will be able to surf but not all services we get like chatting, MIRC since our NT4 proxy will not allow any other than surfing and e-mail cheking. My question is that why should I put the PROXY address of our NT4 Server in our workstations since we are not konekted to. any idea guys????? Our Setup: NT4 Server - 40 workstations - have a 1500 model RAS from 3COM capable of accepting 8 dialup users Win2K Server (R&D Division) - 5 workstations - not wired to NT4 - about 7 KM. away from NT4

Lord Nor...even if im going to use the winroute or wingate..i think it is not still possible since they cannot see each other.. yakkob...all my win98 box are configured the gateway to 192.168.0.1 i think i have to reinstall again...i have the same setup in my office and i dont have problem...
