And some have no room to say s**t (a certain someone who started a 20 page flame out about upgrading to 2000 from dos. So what the hell try chillin out. You aint that FN GREAT! -

Anyone have any luck installing a scanjet 4200. Even with new drivers for 2000 the device fails to start. Typical HP. RattDawg

Are you running a Creative DXR3 DVD decoder with Creative drivers. I had this problem as well after installing their drivers. Dont know any fix for it did a fresh install and used Hollywood plus drivers No Problems! RattDawg
-
Anybody have any insight to when Creative is going to release real drivers for the dxr3 DVD decoder. I have been waiting patiantly since April and have only seen a half ass beta. I have been forced to run Win Me. Hewlett Packard finally got their S**T togather why cant creative? This is the one thing holding me away from Win 2000 bliss. Thanks, RattDawg

Dos Freak I installed H+ drivers and software and everything works fine. I'm finally win9x FREE! One small prob though out of the 20 or so DVDs I have 3 wont play. I know that they worked in Win ME. I'm wondering if this could be related to the zone selector you were referring to? Wasn't sure where to download this. But anyway the system doesn't even see them. Weird! Well any suggestions would be helpful and thanks for the input. RattDawg

Well I haven't tried them yet with a reg hack so that may work. The games I had a problem with were D3D games and I think they were all EA games but they did work before the beta drivers and Hollywood Plus work arounds. I did see a post awhile back ago that said how to force windows to reinstall monitor drivers. I'll have to dig around to find that again. As for HP getting their S**T together they did in my case anyway. After months of waiting for drivers for my Photosmart P1100 and ScanJet 4200C they finally came through. I'm sorry to hear that many still are haven issues. I just cant figure out what the hell the hold up is for Hardware drivers for 2000 Its not like the OS just came out yesterday. It isn't just Creative and HP it seems to be a lot of hardware venders BAD!!!! RattDawg

Do any of these fixes still have the display problem? With every fix that I have tried it screws up my monitor. I get an unknown monitor and no way to reinstall the Sony drivers. Also there seems to be a problem with Direct X after getting the Dxr 3 running, games cant detect direct X. Please let me know any input is appreciated. RattDawg

Man I wish the hell I had time to spend trying to get games and hardware to work. The little time that I have is much better spent (and funner) playing rather than configuring. Got Time to burn? Run 2000 RattDawg

Have you ever been soooo Riled up, you just wanna....

I too have endlessly checked the never updated Creative site for drivers for the DXR3 only too be dissapointed again and again. Imagine my suprise too find out I had to flush the system after installing that bomb they called a beta. The first peice of hardware I got from Creative was the 12 meg 3D Blaster VooDoo 2 card and support was great. The reason I picked it was because I had previously ran Diamond hardware and support was dropping fast. Well we can see what happened to Diamond. Could Creative be next? RattDawg -
Hey I could live without the few games Win 2000 doesnt support, in fact all the games that I play ran extremely well. It is just the $1500 dollars in hardware that doesnt work or works half-assed that bugs me. RattDawg
-
Simple Because 2000 lacks hardware support. I have messed with 2000 since it was released and drivers are very s**ty with the os. Ive sunk alot of cash into sound, video, and DVD cards only to find out that when you install drivers for them it works half ass or screws something else up with the system (creative dxr 3). For 5 months Ive done nothing on my computer but struggle to configure hardware only to reformat and start over again and again. I have been running duel boot with 2000 and Me for the past few month so when Me was released last week I wasted no time buying a (leget)copy and reformatting one more time (Me only). And ya know what? Everything works and works great. Sure Me isnt as stable but Im able to enjoy everything that I have spent my hard earned $ on. Bitter? No way! Ive have learned tons and eagerly await the day when hardware venders or able to get thier drivers optimized for 2000. Ive noticed with MCM2 that it has issues with selecting between the Geforce DDR and software rasterization. I can start a game and the graphics and fps are smooth and kickin but then in the next game its grainy and choppy. Is anyone else noticed this yet and any ideas. Yup all features are working with the beta 3500 drvers and the beta visual reality. MPEG capture to the tv tuner all is flawless. My wife has been running it for 3 months now with no issues!!! Later.... RattDawg

Does anyone have any good recomendations on a good running motherboard with Windows 2K? Im currently running a DFI PA61 with a Pentium III 600, Annilater Pro, Live Plat.,and a DXR3 DVD decoder. The Via drivers seem to give me greif and dont run as stable as the Intel 440 chipset that I use to have. Any suggestions? Thanks.... RattDawg

Oh Jo...I forgot to ask but are you runnig duel monitors. Ive got a freind that was running a Creative TNT 2 Ultra as his primary display and was getting this exact message although not sure how he fixed it. Later... RattDawg

Hmmm thats the same settings Im using, only Im running an Annilater Pro. But Ive heard that the problems can be the same with a TNT 2. Are you running an Intel or VIA chipset? Ive got VIA and had all kinds of problems untill I found a fix. Later... RattDawg
