Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith, acctually DO WORK.

Yup it works flawless if you do it that way. It just wont launch from the LucasArts menu. This seems to happen with other Lucas Arts titles but the shortcut to the exect will fix it. Later... RattDawg

  5. Well did some more testing and yet another fresh install. It seems that it is the creative nt driver is causeing this havoc. Det 5.16 WIN2K

Yeah finnally solved the prob with the black screen. VIAAGP.SYS file from Tom's hardware fixed me right up. Now it seems that the 5.16 run alot smoother and more stable than 5.13 (never tried 5.14 per via prob) Nvidia seems to get better with each beta. Half Life and NFS 5 never ran better! Later.... Det 5.16 WIN2K

Well I tested them out on my system and they did the same thing that the 5.14 drivers did. As soon as I installed them the machine booted into the black screen. Removed them in safe mode and went back to 5.13 and everything was fine. Seems to be an issue with my mobo (dfi pa61) or my processor (p3 600) Not sure which but I hope this isnt a preview of things to come! Later... RattDawg

Ya, if anyone knows of a fix for this I'd be forever grateful. The workaround that is on Nt compatable is base on a RC version of 2000. The files arnt on the final release. Thanks... RattDawg
  10. Na sorry I ment a fix for the d3d issue. When its installed it runs fine and sounds great pumped into a 5.1 desktop theater but Im still not sure if the d3d issue is from drivers or direct x. Does anyone have this combo working with Direct x 8? Later... RattDawg

    Voodoo 3500... Have a question...

Ive noticed this problem as well on my main computer with a GeForce DDR. Im not really sure if it is a bug with windows or with immature drivers. Everything seems to run rather well though. Is there anyone that could shed some light on this? Later.... RattDawg

Does the Voodoo3 3500TV work well with Win2k?

Ive had a Voodoo 3 3500 installed on my wife's computer for a month now with 3dfx beta drivers and the beta visual reality program and ti has ran flawless. I have cable hooked up to it and we have been running the TV tuner alot sence the NHL playoffs started. A very stable card. Later.... RattDawg
  15. I had the same problem as LedZep did with the Hollywood plus-detonater combo except I couldnt get D3d to run at all. It took me 5 installs to tie the problem to the dxr3 board. I also noticed that the system also lost my moniter profile my Sony 200es became a "defult moniter". Uninstalling the Dxr3 didnt help either, no option but a fresh install. NFS 5 wouldnt detect my card in the 3d setup had to go with software rendering if it would even run at all most of the time I got an error saying "need dx7 you have dx0". So Im still not sure what this combo of drivers is messing up I only know that they are the cause. Hopefully that is why creative is taking so long on drivers, they cant figure it out either. Heres hoping they get it right. Pentium 3 600 dfi pa61 mobo Annilater Pro SB Live Platium Creative DVD encore 8x 128 ram 2000 pro Later...... RattDawg

    DirectX 7(a) in W2k problem--SOLVED!!!

I hate to say this but have you checked the 3D Setup for NFS 5? Im sure it will say you are running under software rendering. I ran into this problem as well with DX 7 not detected. As far as I can tell it has to do with corruption of the Detonater drivers. The only way I could fix it was a fresh intall of 2000 BAAADD. ------------------ Dont be afraid to face the unknown!!

In Particular NFS 5 PU. Would error with message You need DX7 you have DX0 installed. Also noticed that after I installed the Hollywood + drivers the sytem wouldnt detect my moniter or its settings. My Sony 200ES became an "unknown monitor" and know mater what I did I couldnt figure out A fix for it. Hell it took me two weeks and about ten fresh installs of Win 2000 to trace it that far. Yuuckk been running for a week and a half with out the hollywood + and no issues. Also getting better game performance that Win98 (which is installed only for Dxr3 card. Bummer!
