can you tell me where i get this with realmode DOS enable hack?
-
well i have RC2 installed, a GF3 & will install Max Payne tonight- just got it delivered from Amazon- will install the 1.01 patch & let you all know what happens. PS FYI RC2 allows you to read disks burned with direct cd finally!!!! and Easy CD Creator 5 now works flawlessly- installed without any errors or anything- r0x0r

i have to agree- i clean install my machine, install win98 (minimum install), then ungrade to XP. I have to problems at all
-
ive always been able to clean install win2k/winXP betas using a bootdisk, then typing \i386\winnt.exe, but this doesnt seem to work with RC2, and i get the usual "cant install in DOS" error if i run setup.exe, am i missing something with RC2? Also anyone who has RC2 noticed the shutdown splash page has changed, it how looks like windows2000, with the bar & drop down menu- WTF why they changed it? Maybe they are dumbing down the OS as its getting close to public release

if you want to install VIA stuff, make sure the setup.exe file in exectued in win2k compatibilty mode

only cure as far as i know is to delete 2495 which is a POS and install RC1, this for me has cured all my problems, no more shutdown BSODs, and driver supprt is far better- in installed the coorect driver for the modem first time unlike 2495.
-
DL it yesterday, and so far i havent experienced any of the problems i had with 2495- mainly BSODs doing pretty much anything, and even when its just sitting idle at the desktop. Also noticed my Diamond modem works out of the box with the default XP drivers, wheras with 29495 had to install drivers myself. Big improvement for me anyway

i get a BSOD od restart of shutdown- any ideas anyone- the BSOD says " IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" it seems to start when i installed 12.90 Win2K drivers fr my Elsa 920. May try some other ones- anyone know which GF drivers work for sure in XP?

i have a very weird & annoying problem with XP 2495 . When i open the cd draw & change disks, every 5 or so times i do this the machine just reboots itself spontaniously, which is extremely annoying. I installe dhte VIA 4.32 drivers using win2k compat. mode, and it all installed ok, but could this be the problem - is it IDE related?? PS if i were to reinstall XP again over the existing installation would this change all driver, vxd files etc back to normal, or would it *uck it up even more?? thanks
-
hey thanks for the reply guys! Ill have to re install XP because ive totally *ucked up the IDE drivers now, and im getting hard reboots when i open the cd draw for some reason?!?! Could you send me a link to this AGP mini port driver please? many thanks
-
i tried to install the 4.32 VIA drivers but it keeps saying "found new hardware, VIA bus master IDE", what do i do- where do i point it to?
-
have installed 2495, and have same old probs on direct cd. I like burning using it, but it doesnt work at all. Im using easy cd creator 5, any ideas? ps i also installed latest via 4.32 drivers and it keeps saying new hardware found, via ide, but where do i point it to to install?
