I was running an Atlhon 700 with 160MB Ram and Gladiac GEforce2 card. Had no problems in Win95 (with hardware, the O/S itself sucked arse) and I converted over to W2K and had same problems as you. Mine went as far as spontaneously rebooting the computer by itself after these dumps took place. Tried everything to no avail. Changed motherboards and now I am fine. Had a FIC SD11 and it did not work well at all, changed over to an Asus K7V and have been rock solid since. Hope that helped.

I saw on the main page here that there was a fix for the missing inf file error if you were using a Voodoo card. Does anyone have a similar fix for GeForce2 cards?

I tried to install directx 8.0 and it says I am missing a required inf file. Can anyone help on this. Asus K7V mobo 160MB Ram Athlon 700 Elsa Gladiac GEForce2

After installing the motherboard I installed W2K and now I have lost the ability to install other programs without error (Such as winzip 8.0 and microsoft office 2000). Also, the onboard gameport is not working properly. I am using the boards setting for "jumper free" and I have turned off Dimm Interleave in the bios. Any ideas on how to solve these problems is appreciated. I am running Athlon 700 with 160MB Ram and Geforce2 card.

Well, I just posted a subject over at the NHL2001 forum asking everyone with the DISK FULL ERRORS to report their system specs and the common link was unfortunately W2K. So unless EA releases a patch to support W2K which they have said they don't support, it looks like we are all SOL!

I was able to install the game (though I could not get it to autorun, so I installed off of explorer). It installed smoothly and played fine. I have been wrapped up in NHL2001 and Diablo2 so I have not played it much, but it did work when I tried to play it. Also, try starting up the game by going through explorer. I think I tried that and it worked fine. Go into the W&W folder and find the W&W icon (yellow icon, should be alphabetical anyway) and double click on it. When it asks what program to use to open that file click on the (not sure the exact name) deep6 file in the same folder. Hope this helps!

I was at an NHL2001 forum (www.nhl2000online.com) and some others seem to have same problem. Though I dont know for sure what o/s they are running. Perhaps running W2K and not mentioning it due to as reported earlier, it is not supported. I heard one possible solution that I will try tonight when I get home for work. I have been installing the patch immediately upon install, but I read a fix that said install game and try to save a season then. ONce you can save a season, update with the patch. I will try that and hopefully it will work. I can't imagine all these games not including W2K on their compatibility lists, Microsofts Xbox game console coming out is going to be based on W2K o/s so the companies better start liking it soon. I am also hoping DirectX 8 solves some issues.

I dont know the link of the website, but go to infoseek and search for powerstrip. There is a free download version. Install it and there is a way to change the AGP settings. Good luck and hope it works out.

I have the same problem as do many people with W2K that I have talked to. The game does not recognize any free hard drive space so I can't save a season, tourny, etc yet I can save my user stats and the changes made to lineups, etc. Odd to have one and not the other. EA may release a fix,one can only hope, if not, maybe DirectX 8.0 will provide assistance. I read an article comparing WinME to W2K with and without DirectX 8.0 and with the new directX W2K performs games as well as ME. Lets hope the final version of DirectX does not disappoint.

You mean Directx 8.0 beta right? Has the offical 8.0 been released yet?

Status Update - I used spare components lying around and replaced the ones in my system one at a time to see if a card was the problem. I think it was the aureal soundcard that was causing the problem. I replaced with a semi-working old SBlive and so far no restarts. I will test this further but hopefully problem solved. The Aureal's A3D did not have any updated drivers (only beta - did not work) so maybe that was it. Thanks everyone for your input!

I have a FIC SD11 mobo and I am using a 300W (approved amd) power supply. It also only supports 1x and 2x AGP (no 4x). I use powerstrip and have switched between both modes and have the same issue. I am leaning towards it being the soundcard but am still looking for advice. Thank all.

Happens on games and usually ones that are not compatible with W2K. I know, why am I trying to run them. For example, the NHL 2001 demo runs fine on my old amd k62 system with W2k so I installed it on my newer Ahtlon system and during the game my computer just restarts itself. Anyone know what would cause this? System spec: Ahtlon 700 Gladiac Geforce2 Aureual Vortex2 Soundcard 160MB Ram Allied Tennyson Ehternet Card Any help on this is appreciated! Thx

After a few minutes the game causes my computer to restart itself! Any insight and remedy to this would be appreciated.
