I own an old Toshiba w/300 celeron and it runs win2k flawlessly. All ACPI functions work without a hitch. Toshiba and Microsoft tested Win2k on their machines, therefore I recomend one of their laptops if you are going to be running Win2k. Just make sure you have at least 128MB Ram. I am using 160 and it runs games ok as well, and I only have 2MB video memory. 1 thing I don't like is the accupoint pointer on the keyboard.

Why does k6-2 get reported at half-speed in ACPI mode on ALI

Any clues, it is ratger annoying, but DXdiag and other report as normal. I searched for answers on TechNet and nothing. It doen't matter if it's oc or not. Just asking to see if anyone has noticed this and I don't want to use standard PC setup which I've heard detects the cpu correctly. -
****NOTE***** This Asus driver is for any AMD-750 Chipset motherboard ONLY. Do not install for any MB using VIA chipset. This is a beta driver from AMD for their chipset. If you have nay questions please post.

Read the post below with K7M+GFORCE+ATHLON, I just replyed too. It seems to fix all stability issues with win2k.

Go to Asus site and download AGP Driver 5.02 for K7M. This fixed issues I was having with G400. It seems to fix some stability issues. Check to see what stepping of 750 chipset. I think they fixed problems in revision 4 or something. I run with AGP 2x and Superbypass and sidebanding all enabled.

I remember awhile back that one of Gigabytes bios updates caused this problem. Download latest bios update and reflash it and then load bios defualt values and change them back accordingly. What version of bios are you using fc..... etc?

Go To Asus web site and download Agp Filter Driver 5.02 for Win2k. This is still beta, but its the latest and worked wonders for Matrox g400. Did you install this patch? This is for Asus K7M Board but will work fine seeing it's the same northbridge chipset. No crashes or BSOD after that. [This message has been edited by PatMan (edited 17 June 2000).]

Does anyone using AMD AGP Filter 5.02 driver under Win2k? Curent Settings? Super Bybass=Enabled Sidebanding Enabled Aperture=256 MB AGP=2x Latest Drivers, Bios, Etc except for this I set up a system for a friend with a Matrox G400 and 256 MB Ram. Quake 3 runs pretty good, but a little slow and D3D crashes and reboots frequently. I just want to know if this 5.02 Filter Driver Resolves any issues, becasue its' dated 9.99. I don't want to install it if it causes problems. I think Win2k installs a 5.00 driver possibly, not sure. responses appreciated
